You can see that I swim Through the sea of painful You have watched as I pull Myself from the floor "200, for the vampires."
"200! Any other offers? Sold! To the pretty boy himself."Li had been frozen at those words, from beginning to end. It wasn’t until he and Ril were forced to go down the steps and then be roughly led towards the ancient vampire had he actually moved. Nevertheless, his movements had been stiff, as if he wasn’t truly moving. When taken roughly to their new master, Ril had let out a sharp cry, losing his grip on Li’s hand and nearly tripping over himself. Luckily he had caught himself before the guards found reason to strike him. When faced with Merrick, both vampires appeared to be in far too much shock to really believe what was going on. Li wanted to get the hell out of here, but whatever that damned psychic vampire did to him, stopped his ability to do so. The blonde hated to feel this way; to consciously know what was going on and what he wanted to do, but being unable to perform it because of some trick set in his mind - or the energy of will sucked away. Ril was visibly shaking, however, the psychic draining having yet to suck away all of his fear and dread. This blonde had far too much of it; and his pale, trembling hands had found Li’s again - gripping harder than before, despite his weakened state. Li returned the gesture, forcing himself to not make contact and glare at this man who thought they now belonged to him. Li would not allow himself to become someone’s slave. He had been born a human noble long before - not some poor sod that had no hope of a good life. It seemed no matter what, happiness and freedom would never be his. First, the curse - curses if you want to be technical, and now…now this. Ril turned his liquidy gaze at Li, as if asking what would become of them now. What they could do to get out of it. Li didn’t have an answer and had to look away in shame. Indeed, what could they do? Well, submitting wasn’t an option - but perhaps pretending until the time Li would see an escape eminent. “It will be all right,” he said finally; softly, quietly to Ril as he gently squeezed his hand. Ril wasn’t so sure to feel as optimistic as his other, but forced a weak smile upon his lips. However, Li did realize that they had both only been sold for 200. What kind of price was that? Certainly they would be worth more. The vampire furrowed his brows angrily. How insulting. He’d show those slave sellers a thing or to when he freed himself. It seemed he had completely forgotten about Merrick. Ril was tugging on his arm with his free hand, whispering what sounded like warnings. “He’s staring,” he whimpered. Li had raised an eyebrow. “So?” Not a good reply. So much for a good impression. And you were there when I Built my tower like pebbles in the rain Trying to balance all that I had left With what I didn't have anymore

He was, by nature, a markedly possessive male. His slaves were kept close, and should any other touch them without his permission, it wouldn't have turned out quite well. Particularly if the guards had indeed struck either of the pair. It was one thing for him, as the master, to dole out punishment. But an entirely differant thing for someone else to do it. As it were, they were clearly already drained of energy though he didn't have to guess to figure out why. Most slaves, that came through here, would be in fact.
An expert eye, and countless, endless centuries left him with the ability to pick out new slaves. And these two clearly were. It was in the one's glare. So defiant, so stubborn. Naive little creature, to think that they wouldn't be broken to. That they could escape. And while neither were fledglings; age tainted a person's scent the very same way it might taint a fine wine. They were yet, far far younger than he. Merrick had developed his skills at breaking others to a fine art. Masterful, really. This pair would be no differant.
"Mind your manners..." He warned sharply as the one continued to glare, a dark deliberate drawl...every word carefully articulated, distinct. Warning beneath the velvetine timbre, a not so subtle hint. Punishment lurked beneath the guise of glittering artic blue orbs. An unearthly shade that he'd been born with and had once been the source of a great deal of supersition. But that was then, and far far from the now.
Amusement curled its tendrils through his mind as he observed the pair, clearly lost up in one another. My, was he that easily forgotten? They would have to remedy it. And soon. The pair were going to be interesting, but they would find themselves well cared for...unless they riled his temper. It was a dangerous thing, that. And any that lived within his home learned that very quickly.
Cold eyes, however, grew even more so with the boy's words. 'So?' He promptly reached out and cuffed the particularly mouthy blonde on the side of his head. A none to gentle chastisement before he was shifting a long arm around them both and ushering them further from the crowd. In the direction of the door, because he never liked to be among rabble in longer than necessary. As it were, he'd have to bathe to remove there combined stench from his person.
And speaking of stench. His eyes slid to the pair of newly purchased slaves. They needed to bathe worse than even he did. He'd only been in a crowd, they'd been in holding pens. Disgusting, sweltering place that it really was.

And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose Ril had heard their new master's comment, which had been the main reason why he tried to get Li's attention. He hadn't exactly planned for his other to be mouthy and get in trouble. He winced sympathetically when Li was struck across the head. Was this man going to be abusive, like he feared? Ril only prayed that he wouldn't - maybe that was just a warning? "Please, be careful," Ril whispered, worry all too clear in his nearly golden tinted eyes. Li was still rubbing his head. It had stung quite a bit, but it would have hurt less if they hadn't been drained so much by the psychic vampire and the fact neither of them had fed for days. When Merrick put his arm behind them and edged them forward to leave the crowd, Li almost felt relieved. He hadn't wanted to stay here any longer, either. Crowds bothered him, made him nervous. Even with the ring on, he still felt any kind of contact with another would bring him pain - real or just phantom pain from having the curse for so long. It was strange; he had expected more pain when he had been cuffed over the head. It should have bothered him that he had been hit in the first place, but he seemed happy about the revelation. Ril watched him carefully, his expression still that of concern. "Are you all right?" "I'm fine," Li said nonchalantly, the sore spot now seeming to fade away. "Stop worrying." He gave his other self a certain look, speaking without words that all they had to do was play along until the time came to get out. Ril didn't seem to like the plan, he could tell by his body language. Li could only sigh. This was going to take a lot of time. Ril was a lot harder to work with than he would have liked. Li was not going to let himself be broken, and he was not going to let Ril be, either. Not without a hell of a fight. If only he knew what consequences it would bring. He kept walking, wondering where this vampire possibly lived or how far it was from here. Li hadn't really looked at the man yet, not all that interested before. Now that they were bought by him, perhaps it was time to begin to "know" what he was dealing with here. So Li slowly looked over to his "master", trying to get a good look at him without being seen staring. He was far too stubborn to truly call this guy Master. That would take a lot of discipline to get him into that habit. Li would be smart enough to not call this guy anything, if he decided to call him other names. And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose

Even as far as vampires went, he as handsome. The club light cast a faint glow against regal sculpted features, and left a gleam within the artic blue of his gaze. Ancient power bled from his every pore, a tangible thing. His free hand lifted, long artful fingers brushing inky hair from his sharp eyes, as he continued to herd the two vampire slaves through the club. His stance with either of them possessive. Particularly when a few other club goers got just a bit to close. He didn't share, and this pair would find that out very quickly.
He could practically feel the intent of the mouthier blonde; he thought he could escape. Amusing little pet. Perhaps it was all the better really, Merrick was as dangerous when bored as he was when hungry. The dark haired vampire never fasted. Why would he, when there was a ready supply of prey? What else would he use cattle for? Pathetic, breakable creatures.
He led them out of the club, and began to guide them down the street. "This way..." Merrick murmured, "And do hurry...I wish to be home..." Never mind that the pair were more than likely exhausted. "You both reak of filth and require a bath." He could smell psychic vampire upon them. And he could smell a countless many others. Never mind the poor state that those cages they kept slaves in tended to be.
Then would come a feeding, and whatever else he desired of them. They were his pets now, and truly had little say in the matter. Never mind there clear defiance; he hadn't a desire to completely clear there fire but he would demand obediance...at least in some manners. And he would demand respect above all else.
The apartment building was a ways up the street. He wasn't fond of it per say, but it was only temporary. And at the very least, it was safe. With windows created of a special glass that kept harmful UV rays from within, so that he might be up and awake whenever he desired. The slave he already had kept his living quarters spotless, and there was at least comfort.
The twins were lucky, considering where some slaves ended up. It could be...much worse.

You seem so devoted Your love is unconditional You were self-promoted I never asked you Ril tried to keep up, but his pace was much slower than Li and their new master. He was far weaker than his other, and it showed visibly at the strain in his gait and breathing. Li narrowed his eyes into practically slits, his own protectiveness over Ril taking over. He thought about snapping at the man, but knew better. Who knew what this guy would and could do to them at this point? Instead, Li just helped support Ril as best he could as they walked faster. He tried to ignore the comment about how bad they obviously smelled. It wasn't like he could help it. Let's put that bastard in a cage and see what happens. His lips curled into a half-snarl, but he kept silent. Ril gave him a weary glance, just knowing that at any time Li would snap - because of him. And he hated knowing that. He caused Li problems all the time, whether intentional or not. Li protected him too much, and sometimes he was cruel in the way of doing so. It wasn't like he asked for this; Ril would have taken care of himself on his own, because Li acted as if he didn't want him around. But every time he suggested it, Li would grow cold and distant, and hurriedly change the subject. Did he fear of losing part of his memories if Ril got killed? Was that why he was so protective? What was he really to Li at all? An scapegoat, a burden, a brother? He'd never know, because Li never would tell him. And he prayed, he hoped, that Li wouldn't try anything stupid because of him. And would he, one day, decide to leave him behind? My apparitional faith Where are you when I am screaming to my God? What am I coming to?

He continued to be amused. There was a rather large part of him desiring for the mouthy blonde to speak his thoughts aloud. That tangible anger that simmered beneath the surface could practically be tasted upon his tongue, and smelt even above the filth that coated them both. Never mind one of his many, many disciplines allowed him to catch thoughts and emotion with the same ease that most mortals breathed in. But he wasn't about to mention that little detail; he'd let them both learn...the hard way. Merrick enjoyed the hard way when it came to dealing with his pets. But he doubted they would.
The ancient was more than aware of the weaker twin's problems keeping up. He was weaker than the first, physically wearing and clearly the more frail of the pair. "If you can't keep up..." He commented idly, "I'll be forced to carry you..." And wouldn't be happy about it, either. Considering there state of filth. It mattered little there was only a couple inches of height between them, Merrick would be able to do the deed with the same ease one might lift a piece of paper.
They were tugged down a street, his mind musing about what he might do with the pair. He'd bought them on a whim. With no real purpose, considering he already had servants. Leon kept his home spotless, and tended to be obediant elsewise. Thus he didn't need a servant. Blood...they would need it as much as he; going without was unacceptable. Already he could smell this pair needed it desperately. And that would be seen to soon. But his use for them? For the time being he wasn't certain. However, he'd figure it out in time. His little whims always served purpose. This pair would be no differant.
It wasn't long before the apartment building came into view, and his free hand sought out the key within his pocket. It would have been a simple thing to simply force them all three to transform with body of the spirit, so that they might simply appear upstairs. But the weak one wouldn't have been able to handle it. Not right now. And as it were, he didn't wish to kill his newly purchased property.

And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose "If you can't keep up..." Li heard the man comment idly, "I'll be forced to carry you..." In response, he kept his arm protectively around Ril as he barred his teeth. Li wouldn't let this guy lay a hand on him if he could help it. Even if it wasn't a violent way. Over protectiveness of his other was a complete understatement. Ril, though, looked possibly more miserable at Li's reaction. He didn't want Li to do anything stupid, but it seemed he would be making a horrible mistake any moment. "I'm fine.." he said finally, trying to push away as he kept pace as they made it to the apartment. Li watched him with a worried, confused expression, but Ril tried to ignore it. He looked away, keeping his eyes set on the floor, head held low. Now that they were there, the weaker blonde lifted his gaze tiredly at the man as he unlocked the door. He supposed once they went inside, they would soon find out what would happen to them. Again, Li put a protective arm around him, despite Ril's slight protest. "We'll be fine," Li said softly. The rest of his words went unsaid, but Ril knew them. "I'll protect you." But could he really? This man looked many times stronger than both of them, when they were in their best of health. Could Li really fend him off if anything were to happen? A heavy, painful stirring in his stomach told him it wasn't so. They wouldn't stand a chance. This vampire was different, Ril could sense it. And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose

The barred teeth didn't go unnoticed, and he eyed them with a cold pale orb. Atrocious manners. And they'd have to be remedied. But that would be corrected over the up and coming weeks. There was a reason the pair had been less perhaps than another. New slaves took a great deal of time and patience. Few had it, though in his mind it was far worth the effort. A pet trained just the way he liked. Or in this case a pair of pets.
And for good pets, there was rewards. Naturally, hygeine and sustenance and clothing would be provided. His lived in comfort. But rewards came in other forms, in various pleasures. Whether it be something simple or great. But just as rewards came in all forms, so did his wrath. And while he wouldn't ruin them by damaging there flesh, he knew various punishment. Not all involving pain.
The pair were herded into the building, and then into an elevator. There need of a bath became all the more apparent there, and he curled his lip at it. Yes, that would be saw to first. He would see to it himself, in his own personal bathroom. While his apartment wasn't large, it held plenty of comfort. At least until his plans for another home were more complete. Things were in motion, and he had goals to reach.
It wasn't but a moment before the elevator was giving off its dig and stopping on the fifth floor. Merrick, without commenting, encouraged them on out once again and down the hall until he stopped at a door. One that he unlocked with a quick flick of his hand, pushing the door open. "Inside..." He told them, expectantly.

If I had another place to go Would you break me, is it that you know I have no choice but to rebuild again I'm tied so hard I can't remember when I last walked free upon these feet of mine Li's patience as wearing thin, not that he had much anyway; but it seemed everything this guy did so far was seriously ticking him off. Ril watched him carefully, tugging on his sleeve now and then to keep his mind off of it, talking to him quietly to calm him down. When they were in the elevator, he would have sworn Li would have said something had Ril not have lost his balance a little and nearly fallen over. Li had caught him, and by that tine, the elevator came to a stop. It took it time to register before Li realized that they would, in fact, be living in an apartment. Why did he some how find that funny? An apartment? With three people, possibly more? How the hell would they all fit? He nearly had expected more from this guy. "This might be easier than I thought," Li said in his head, his tenseness having left him slightly as they were ordered inside the apartment. Ril looked even more worried, not used to Li's slight smile when it came to these things - what was he thinking? A shiver went through Ril momentarily, his eyes wide. There was no way they would be getting out of this. That feeling was dominant in his swirl of emotions. They could never possibly be free again - not so long as this man wanted them. He didn't know how he knew this, but he did. Did Li, or did he just ignore it? It seemed through any horrible predicament that Li always thought he could get them out of it, that they would be fine, free. That has never been the case. Li either got them in more trouble - curses, werewolf attacks, getting caught and brought to slavery. Who knew what next? Ril began to wonder if it was really best just to be good slaves and hope for good treatment...the vampire seemed like a nicer one than the others he had stared at in the auction with dread. He'd have to explain this to Li, despite the fear he had of his other fighting with him about it. He'd have to understand that there wasn't any other choice. They weren't strong enough to fight back, not even in their full strength. But Li was stubborn, fr too stubborn, and Ril could see he was convinced that he wouldn't break, wouldn't give in. Ril feared for his sake. But I'll draw the line There will come a time When I am stronger Your words won't hurt any longer

The apartment was, for all its innoculous appearance from the outside, particularly comfortable. With a vast expanse of pristine wooden floors through out, luxuriant furniture in every room, and windows that blocked out the harmful UV rays most vampires couldn't tolerate. A must, considering how little Merrick actually rested. He didn't need it, at his age. And didn't trust the individuals within this particular building to further relax. Never mind it however, for it was only a temporary living space.
The lights, though unneeded were flicked on with a casual hand once they were in the door. A door that was immediately shut and locked behind them all to bar unwanted outsiders. Merrick's lips coiled slowly into a smile, but the expression was very far from kind. "Do you truly think it might be easier, Pet?" He drawled, picking the thought from the mouthier's blonde's mind with the same ease one might take in a breath of air."I do doubt it."
Already he was encouraging them forward, in the direction of the back hall that would lead toward the set of bedrooms there. There were only two, but he was intent upon keeping this newest pair in his own. Leon had already earned the right to have a bedroom by himself, but this pair...simply hadn't. A bath was imminent, and then they would be fed. If they were lucky, they'd survive the night without punishment. Though the ancient was truly doubting the mouthier blonde's ability to retain himself much longer.
And in that case, Merrick would take him across his knee and give him the very same sort of chastisement a back talking child might receive from there parents: a spanking.

And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose Li jerked, startled by Merrick's comment. So what, this guy could read his thoughts? Shit. He pretended it didn't bother him, still keeping his composure and not saying anything in response. He studied the look of the apartment, spotting that there were only two bedrooms. His eyebrow raised, but he didn't ask. Ril's eyes looked mostly shut as he felt more exhausted now than before. He seemed to be dragging his feet, and it wasn't long until he started to fall to the floor again. Li whipped around fast enough to catch him, eye s widened in surprise and concerned. "Ril?" He shook his other gently by the shoulder. "Hey, can you hear me?" "M'fine..."Li heard him murmur, leaning against him. Li gritted his teeth and heard himself growling. Like hell he was fine. He lifted Ril's head up to look at him and noticed the thin, tightness of his skin against his bones. Ril needed blood, now. Li shot a look at Merrick, as if blaming him for this. " Do something-" he began to snap, but Ril gripped Li's shirt tightly. "Don't..." Ril whispered shakily. He looked ready to crumble to the ground if Li hadn't had such a hold on him. The stronger blonde hissed through his teeth, hating to see his other like this. Something had to be done. And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose

An amused, cruel little curl edged up his mouth as he watched the mouthy blonde jerk. And at the clear manner he pretended it didn't bother him. Merrick thought him perfectly transparent, and was most decidedly enjoying himself. At Li's expense, really. The younger vampire was a barrel of entertainment, but he mildly wondered how long his patience would last with this one. More than likely until the slave did something stupid. He hadn't an ounce of patience for idiocy, and wouldn't put up with it. Period.
But in moments the quieter blonde began to fall; caught just in time in his twin's arms. Merrick's eyes narrowed, as he noted the thin tightness of flesh against his thin form. Anger curled through his being, both at the psychic vampires that had clearly damaged his property and the pair who clearly hadn't fed properly in quite sometime. Irritation curled through him, creeping slowly in his veins to the point his pale eyes glittered. Hard, unyielding. Displeased.
There really wasn't enough time to venture into the kitchen and find one of the packaged blood packs he kept within the fridge for emergencies. It was pure luck that he'd gorged himself before the auction on a healthy young human. And it would do to give this one strength enough to make it further inside the apartment. A growl rumbled through his chest darkly, as he lifted his own wrist to his mouth...puncturing the flesh with a quick slide of ivory fang.
Pressing near the pair, he didn't even blink as he pressed the rapidly bleeding wrist to the younger vampire's mouth. It was ancient, potent blood. And it would help, even if he would have preferred to save it for good behavior than need. "Drink." A sharply given commanded Ril; voice none to gentle and full of demand.

'Til there was nothing left but a battered rose And would you tear my castle down Stone by stone And let the wind run through my windows 'Til there is nothing nothing left Ril flinched away in surprise, his watery eyes filled with fear and uncertainty. He pressed closer to Li, which only caused his other to hold him closer. When Merrick was close enough, Ril came to realize what he was going to do. He weakly pushed himself away from Li and slowly, hesitantly placed his mouth over Merrick's slit wrist. Li went rigid, watching his twin feed off of this other vampire. He knew there was probably no other choice, bit it bothered him. It took all his energy not to tear Ril away from Merrick and pull themselves into a protective corner so he wouldn't touch them. Ril was weak, but he could feel himself getting better as the ancient immortal blood coursed through his body. He seemed to be in a daze, consumed by it. As it seemed to go on for agonizing seconds- near a minute, Li pulled his other away before he went too far. The more fragile vampire gasped in surprise, his eyes dilating into larger pupils before shrinking back again to normal as he leaned against Li. "Can you stand?" Li asked quietly, keeping his voice from shaking. Ril stared at him blankly for a moment until his self-consciousness came back. He nodded numbly, pushing himself to his feet while Li supported him as he got back up as well; holding Ril's frail arms in a firm grasp. Ril turned his still tired gaze toward Merrick and smiled faintly. "Thank you..." 'Til there is nothing nothing left 'Til there is nothing left And would you tear my castle down Would you tear my castle down Would you tear my castle down...

The gentle pull of blood from his wrist made pleasure slide through his form. It'd only been on rare occasion that he'd allowed another to feed from him, but there was reason for it. He enjoyed the feel of another mouth against his skin, even with his heart long since frozen from such feeling. And never mind the inevitable pain that came from the tugging of his veins. But not even an empath would have been able to tell what Merrick thought of the matter as he observed the scene through artic eyes.
And then Li was pulling Ril away. The ancient promptly lifted his wrist to his mouth; tongue lazily curling out to slide against the open wound to seal it. Not a mark left behind upon his pale perfect wrist. "I see to what is mine..." Merrick replied to the thanks, a possessive flicker of his eyes sliding over both vampires. An uncomfortable shifting within his chest, occuring at the gratitude. And then his tone would harden faintly, in a dark rumble. "Neither of you will wait so long to feed...clearly it has had adverse affects upon your person, on top of your encounter with the psychic vampire...."
A long pale hand run through the inky fall of his hair, handsome features unyielding in the demand that he'd made. "Come....it is apparent you require a more thorough meal before your bath." And they would be taking a bath, very soon. Merrick intended on seeing to it him self.

Ril's cheeks flushed slightly as Merrick's eyes looked them both up and down, spotting the possessiveness in his gaze- one he was used to seeing in Li. He lowered his eyes to the floor, keeping himself from seeing both their eyes on him.
Li tugged on his elbow slightly, motioning him to walk with him as Merrick ordered them to move. Ril obediently followed. He was relieved that this man was supposedly going to take care of them. It was better than living off stray animals and hiding away in dirty sewers like they had for the few months they had come here.
Their hiding obviously didn't pay off, as they were still caught and sold, but maybe it really wasn't such a bad thing. Ril didn't think this vampire was all that bad, but he was easily fooled, one to trust quickly - unlike his other counterpart.
Li seemed to be walking stiffly, his expression unreadable as Ril watched him worriedly. What was he thinking? Was he mad at him, for feeling safe and comfortable here? Li's eyes flicked toward his and Ril quickly looked away, not anteing to see the disappointment and betrayal Li obviously felt. His eyes seemed to say "How could you give up so easily?" and even Ril didn't have an answer for that, not that he ever had an answer for anything.
