cero ;;
The night was just beginning to creep through the already dark woods, a small shape seen, by scrutinous looking, scuttling by the trunk of a tree. Cero had taken to using his raccoon form more often, worried about the slave traders. A mute? Heh, he wouldn't sell fo much, but it would be easy to mark up his body, torture him, no sounds of pain, at all. So here he was, just looking for his own way out of a life of more humility.
The half human, half shapeshfter switched back into his half and half form, with raccoon ears and tail. He sighed, before pulling out a roasted fish from his backpack from a little while earlier. He nibbled on it, sitting in the tree, before a branch snapped below him. His body tensed; who was down there, and what did they want? He could give them a hell of a fight, if need be.

Tameshlee crouched down close to the ground, sniffing around the surrounding area in the dark forest. It was almost humiliating to her, scrounging around like a wild animal for something to eat. She stayed as still as she possibly could, hoping to catch a sound. Even the smallest hint of what she wanted, what she had been craving all day, and now that the sun was down; it was time to pursue it. A soul, she wasn't picky at this point, she hadn't consumed one since the night before.
It was odd how Lee saw it as she consuming it, when, since the beginning, it had been consuming her. Almost thirty years of the immortality that it brought to a lowly human that she once was. It was almost laughable, how she could start out as a free child, turn into a crushed human slave, and now this. The power that came wasn't endless, it barely gave her any protection from the other creatures that roamed the earth. From those... demons and angels, just waiting to take her kind off the planet, everything wanted her off the ground she was standing on.
An absolutely desirable smell wafted through the air, almost, tauntingly. Her mouth watered at the thought of catching whatever it was, the creature, living or dead, that was radiating such a scent. Lee wanted it, that's all she knew. That's all she wanted to know, and it was all she could care about, or ever imagine caring about. She just needed to find it.
She pushed herself off the ground, and took off at a dash. Dodging the trees, in an attempt to hunt down her next meal that she needed to survive. She thought she was doing well, until her foot landed on a branch. A branch that made a snapping sound, that seemed to echo through the whole depths of the woods. It could have been something else, but either way it made Lee pause, and look around the surrounding location. She caught a glimpse of... something, it had 'ccoon ears, and a tail.
Tameshlee raised an eyebrow, but crouched down into an attacking position none the less. She took a breath in deeply, and stared at what on earth that was, waiting for it to do something. She rolled her eyes, when the other scent slowly disappeared somewhere underground. Now, she was irritated, she had just lost her dinner, and would have to settle on something less appetizing. A catch like the last one only came around once and a blue moon. "Hello?" She asked the odd creature, still waiting there for some sort of response so she could determine her next actions. Which would either be, leave the thing, or kill it instead of scrounging around for her daily intake.

Mute. What a word to describe the half-breed. He could sense . . something. But what that something was, Cero didn't know. He had never met something like that, otherwise i would have registered in his radar. It annoyed him, and made him even more on edge, still silent, as always.
What was that? It was something like a physic vampire, but mixed with something else, distorted, somehow, as though a demon had consumed it. His dark eyes followed the movemnt below, the fish now gone. How pathetic. He had nearly nothing to defend himself, but was readied soon nonetheless. And then the voice.
Obviously female, cautious in a way yet brash as well, quite an odd mix. At least, that's how it sounded to Cero. Regardless, he would rather have a live ally than a dead enemy, so, his knives at the ready, within his sleeves, easily within reach, he dropped from the tree, raccoon tail and ears still intact. It was more comfortable that way, at least. Plus, he could hear better, just a bit, her breathing reaching his ears. Despite Cero's size, his landing was quiet, many years of wandering and stealing revealing that much in the quiet action. His position wasn't offensive, nor defensive, but whatever he needed to be, simply ready for action, since he still coudn't talk, and never would.

Tameshlee's eyebrows furrowed in confusion for two things, for one he didn't say a word, for another he had not yet attacked nor had he ran away. She was in fact, very baffled about this situation, and didn't know if she should be worried, or feel safe about it. There was just something wrong with the whole thing that kept her on edge, it was that or she was always on edge and needed to think about what as going on. It was almost impossible to keep her mind on track, she was hungry. There was no doubt about it, she was hungry and she was craving the taste of that thing that had just escaped her.
Lee gutted down her hunger, she stood back up to her full height. It wasn't very tall, but she was no longer ready to jump on him. She paused in her own thoughts... it was a him, 'Backtrack, reverse, fast forward... sweet.'[/b] She smirked to herself internally, then had the urge to slap herself. She thought she sounded like a completely single minded freak, but it was in her nature. She turned her head away from the raccoon creature, and eyed a medium sized bird that flew through the trees. She took a few steps towards it, then forced herself to a stop and spun on her heel to re-face the male. She felt almost helpless for a moment, unable to make up her mind or make a sure fire decision.
She placed the kindest smile that she could muster on her face, and offered her hand. Which was shaking uncontrollably, it seemed that the more she tried to stop it, the more that it twitched. Lee was holding herself back, she was using every fiber of her being at that point of time to stop herself from dashing away, or hurting that person. She didn't feel like killing an intelligent creature, and he didn't smell all that appetizing. It wasn't that he didn't smell good, just not great, it was like he was on that fine border line.
"I'm L-Lee." She greeted, still trying to hold her arm in place, trying to figure out how she got tongue tied and studdery saying her own name. Lee was also simultaneously trying to figure out what this male was. He didn't look like a vampire, demon nor angel, so there was only so many other options. She didn't want to ask, but she was starting to think he was a neko'sh being that was more related to a raccoon then a cat. "You are?" She asked, clamming her shaking outstretched still with her other hand. Trying to keep herself talking for she really didn't want to loose it like so many of her own kind, wanting to keep a little bit of her sanity. Giving into their more animal-like needs and desires, it was almost degrading to be alive. On the other hand, it felt so good to be stronger then a ...human...[/size]

As Lee started off in a nother direction for a couple of seconds, Cero's eyes narrowed slightly, the daggers he had mastered long ago slipping out of his baggy clothes ever so slightly, before slipping in as she looked at him. Lee's hand extended, a smile on her face, inviting, friendly, but it seemed that something was a bit off with her. Just past what Cero could point out, way beyond his own analyzing abilities. He recoiled at her hand, slightly, just barely, but it was still there, shaking terribly, like he would have done long ago. But, he was still a half-human, sympathy was something he felt. Her stammering made him smile slightly back, shy and just a bit hostile still toward Lee, for it wsn't clear whether she was a true ally or enemy.
Though not having the ability to talk, Cero wrote in the air, backwards to him, rightways to Lee, as she called herself. She was definitely nothing human, so it would be easy for her to read what he was saying. "Cero," her wrote with his left hand, being a non-righty, in theair, slow enough so she could read it, if need be. Cero forced his tail and ears to disappear; there was no need for them now. "I'm Cero Schiffer, Miss Lee." If one had provided him with pen and paper, they would see his elegant writing, nice and neat, slightly loopy.

She watched the movements of the males hand, reading the letter's that were spelled out in the air. The name Cero was the one that Tameshlee had caught in her head, even if she was wrong, it had to be something with a C and O, the R could possibly be a N. It was awefuling confusing to her, but she figured that he was a mute and he couldn't say anything to her, or he was messing with her mind. "Well then, G'd evening Cero." Lee nodded, returning her hand back to her side. She gripped the material of her shirt, still on edge about the whole thing, even though she thought that she was doing quite well to keep herself level headed. The typical thoughts of greed and manifestation weren't leaving anytime soon, she still managed to keep herself and stay optimistic.
Tameshlee raised an eyebrow, noticing that the raccoon tail and ears were completely gone. She sighed internally and crossed out the option of odd neko mixture out of her head, and wondered if he was a shifter or something. It did make sense, he did smell more then enough human, and her sense of smell wasn't that great when it came to determining creatures' races. Cero seemed a little young to be running around in the woods by himself, she didn't know why; it could be that he's hiding from someone, or he really lives in a forest. Either way, he appeared only to be around sixteen years old. It was a shame to have a young male running around in a dank place like that, even though she found it rather home-warming.
"...yup... nice to meet you Cero." She muttered awkwardly, still doing well since she hadn't eaten yet. It made her think, it would be so easy considering that he was a mute, well that's what she thought. He didn't even look armed at all, she could just run over there, and ... get some lunch. It was very tempting, she stepped back, away from the raccoon child hoping to put a safe amount of distance between the two. The smells, the mere fact that she hadn't eaten was almost too much for her right then. Most of the time, this wouldn't even be a problem.

Oh, she doubted him. Lee's words were easy to find the emotions behind, if only for a split second. Cero was good at reading people, though he wasn't 100% accurate. Nobody was, far as he was concerned. But she was pretty, and he watched Lee take a couple of steps back. He frowned slightly. There was . . something there, beneath the surface, with her, for she was definitely hiding something from him, though the half-breed wasn't quite sure what exactly that was yet. She most definitely wasn't a vampire, though the hunger he was getting off of her was something similar. It would bother Cero, but he pushed it away, for now, his dark eyes looking her up and down, the feeling of the knives still brushing up against his arms, hidden and ready, still.
This time, Cero wrote slower, his pale fingers tracing the words in the air, though he ouldn't say them aloud. "What's bothering you, Lee? You seem . . . uncomfortable." He was playing with her slightly, seeing as if she would openly admit anything that the woman was hiding from him. Cero felt on edge around her, as though he were standing next to a predator, lethality pushed to the maximum, though he just couldn't pinpoint why. The wind picked up, and his hair blew in his eyes, the black-blue strands covering them for an instant before he pushed them away.

Tameshlee raised an eyebrow, looking back on it she was acting a little more suspicious then most people. She figured it to be understandable though, she honestly really wanted to walk over there and rip that shapeshifting person apart. Then, at the same time, she didn't, there were other, better things out there. A gust of wind tore through the area where the pair were standing which carried along a mixture of different scents and appeals. And, it only made her current situation worse, only moments away at that time from attempting to make Cero a meal.
Lee tried to distract herself with his question, but it wasn't much use of getting her mind off of what was currently invading her thoughts. She attempted to breath through her mouth instead, so hopefully the traces of other souls would stop tormenting her nose. She shrugged at his question, yet decided that it would be best to answer it anyway, "I'm, just hungry. That's all." She answered, it was very true she didn't lie, she just didn't feel that there was the need to explain what she wanted to eat.
It made Lee wonder though, if he ever seen one of her own kind before. If he hadn't that that meant that she was, thankfully, one of the only ones around. It was that or he just didn't leave the forest a lot or he just couldn't recognize one. She kinda hoped for the one that she was one of the only ones, it would be a shame that there weren't going to be any girls of her own kind to talk to though. "It's not a big deal." Lee added waving her hand back and worth, as if to dismiss the idea of her even being uncomfortable. He was an adorable raccoon child though, she'd love to have a picture or something to show her friends. It wasn't everyday that a person got to meet a teenage appearing person that could randomly change animal body parts like that. It made her wonder what his race really was.

Her answers were vaguer than Cero liked; in fact that annoyed him even more-so. Why didn't Lee just answer his damn questions properly? Ah, well, eventually, he would get his answers. There was still; something off, an it was just a bit more now than before. It was like some animalistic urge within Lee, the primal instinct, the regression back into animals. However, she didn't smell like any creature that changed forms that he knew of; in fact, this was the first time he smelled someone quite like this. And Cer wouldn't lie. It was sweet, with a slightly sharp taste to it, along with something . . darker, darker than a vampire or demon.
"Well, then why don't you just eat, rather than be hungry, Miss?" his fingers wrote in the air for her, turning shis body slightly, his eyes finding the half moon, its light finding the way, despite the darkness of the forest itself. His hand grabbed the sleeve of her clothing gently, while the other hand came up to write once more. It was better than carrying aroun a notebook, that was for sure. "Awh, come on, just eat something. I'll feel bad if you don't." He gave her a pleading look, wanting her to sympathizze and give in. Instinct tol him to stop right there, that he should have let the subject drop already; but he was Cero, and his curiousity was never satisfied.

Lee was so determined to keep her own sanity, but it seemed that this male was just as determined to make her loose herself. She highly didn't believe that he would feel sorry at all if she decided to get something to eat, and the guy was starting to get on her nerves. His scent almost tauntingly wavered through her own senses, as if it was trying to lure her over there. It was times like these when she thought that doing the right thing just wasn't worth it, especially when little raccoons were driving her up a wall. Lee looked down at Cero, and the glances that he was sending her way was just stripping away at her self control. The only thing she could do was let it go slowly; going, going, gone.
She spun around suddenly, only the smallest sliver of her was screaming no, but it didn't matter anymore, the damage was done. Lee took a tight hold of the younger males wrists and she slammed his body against the tree with her own. Not loosening her grip at all, she leaned forward and grazed her teeth along the side of his neck. She sighed while closing her eyes and inhaled the scent of his soul. It was almost sweet, yet it had it's own little bitter twist to it, being this close, it was all that was overwhelming her senses.
"You sure you insist upon that?" She asked in a purring tone, gently nuzzling her face against his navy toned hair. Lee felt so great giving into her more animalistic nature, her guilt would haunt her later, but for the time being it wasn't even a problem. She hesitated, he was such a cute guy, it would be a shame just to end his life for a single meal. "There is a reason why they call us soul eaters." She commented, feeling that she could describe herself, as if she was almost hitting a high. It was almost like a numbness that was buzzing throughout every fiber in her body. Eating, killing, or taking advantage of, Lee didn't care at the moment, she was determined get what she wanted.

His body shifted, but too late, as Cero realized the amage he had one, curiousity leading to this, which he shouldn't have pushed, but did anyway, something he would regret now. Her words went straight to the core of his being, his pesonna, striking him with a cold fear, like ice crawling up his spine, freezing him. And the next thing he knew, the little lay had him pushed up against the tree, making a small thu noise, though no one would be there to rescue him. The feel of sharp teeth on his neck made his heart beat faster, if even possible, and his breathing quicker, frightened for once in a long while. Cero shouldn't have underestimated Lee, and thus, he would pay the consequences.
Her face nuzzled his head, and a small glimmer of hope went through him, though that was soon put out as well. A soul eater? He was in for a rough night, that was for sure. An he shook his hea slightly, basically begging her not to, weak uner her grasp, like a toy, easily broken. Whimpers woul have come out if they could, but mutes made no noise. A shuder ran through Cero's body, pinned to the tree, hapless prey to Lee. His head shook back and forth, eyes finding her, begging her not to. He would do anything to get out of it, selfish as Cero was.

Lee frowned slightly at her catch, even though his eyes were absolutely begging she would refuse to let him go. He brought it upon himself, and it would be something that he would have to deal with for the time being. A sly smile crossed her face, as she slowly moistened her lips with her tongue, his soul would prove to be wonderful. There was the small strike of pity coursing through her body, but it didn't matter anymore. She was disappointed however the he couldn't talk or make any sound, it would have been more entertaining if it had worked out in that manner. Still, Lee would settle with anything, it didn't matter if they were mute or not.
She let her eyes travel from his own down to his chest, every person's soul was different, had their own special twist. She released his right wrist, and reattached her grip to the same limbs upper arm, not wanting the male to get away. "Want to negotiate?" Lee asked, cocking her head slightly as she posed her question. "I'm all up for suggestions." She grinned, loving the fact that she was what she was. The power was one that surpassed that of a human, even if that was what she was born to be, she was given a greater gift. In some ways, people could argue a curse as well.
For most people, the age would have put them off. Lee didn't really care, they were all the same, as long as they weren't ten. She pressed against him a little more, making sure that there was as much contact as she could. At least to force some lack of movement, or struggle, she really hated when they tried to escape. She let her hair make it's way out of her face as she moved her face closer yet, she pressed her lips against his forehead. Focusing on closing the space between the two, letting herself soak in the scents of everything around her.

The smile that crept across her face frightened the boy more. What had he gotten himself into? Cero had half a mind to shift, to go it like an animal rather than in his human form, but that wouldn't be the best either. She could just snap his neck, or just kill him by sucking his soul out anyway. Lee's words though, gave Cero some sort of hope, though it was a small chance at not being killed here and now, by the soul eater. Her lips came to his forehead, slightly wet, yet soft, an his heart sped up, the sound of it in his ears, pounding away.
And his right arm was free to write, mostly, though Lee's grip wasn't broken. This was pitiful, Cero begging to be spared his life. Why couldn't he just let her kill him already? Selfish. That's how he saw himself right now, but again, he fought at that, claiming it was natural to want to live. But Cero was confused, so he simply shook his head, eyes still begging not to kill, not to destroy or decimate. "I don't know," the half-breed wrote frantically, biting on his lower lips, drawing blood. "Whatever you want that I can give you, Lee." It was risky, but that's what Cero was offering. A sinking feeling took over him, and he attempted to pull away, but still to no avail.

Lee smirked at the shapeshifting male, secretly and deep down she was thankful that she wouldn't have to end up ripping the soul from him. It was an annoyance that she would have to find something else to eat later, but she didn't do well with dealing with pity. Most people would absolutely hate the idea of being pitied, but she was one that felt sorry for people often. Which would be why she doesn't talk to the things that she was planning to eat, little connections like that made her mind go crazy. She wasn't sure if she should trust him, but he seemed defenseless enough if he was basically begging not to have his life taken away. Yet, she would do the same thing, death wasn't something to be welcomed with open arms.
She let go of his arms, and brought her hand up to his face, wiping the blood that was dribbling from a bite from his lip. Lee tilted her head to the side, wondering if he was going to try to dash away or continue to struggle. If there were any other soul eaters around, the ridicule would never end. One of them even waiting longer then a second to do someone in and get it done and over with, it was typically annoying.
Lee smiled and snaked her hand onto his chest, "I'm happy we can reach an agreement." She said cheerfully, using her other hand to play with the strands of hair that were assorted on his head. Sadly, she'd probably make her end of the compromise more flexible then she would have to. She could feel his rapid heart beat under her palm, it almost made her crave him even more. Her mind was spinning from the temptation of the odd individual, it was just the taunting of the his soul, mixed with the fact he was male.
"It would be a waste just to kill you." She murmured, bringing her lips to his so the space was almost microscopic. Closing the remaining air, she started to slowly glide her mouth against his. After a moment she pushed herself back a bit, and continued to brush her hand in his dark hair. "You are so polite." Lee added, rather amused at his behaviours in general.

Released at laste, her touch made his heart accelerate further, Lee's words calming him own. He breathed a small sigh of relief, no death for Cero today, though this one seemed like one of the worst fates he could imagine as of now. As her touched his, he was slightly surprised to find himself kissing back, gentle and soft, but shy as well. It showed in his actions, though Cero wasn't THAT inexperienced in this area. It was just that . . it felt different with someone who might kill you, but there seemed to be something else, that he couldn't put his finger on . .
And Lee pulled away from Cero, he looked at her, shy almost, but his hand reached up, writing a quick dialogue for him. "Thank you, Lee." But he was still unsure of what exactly she wanted, and it was apparent that he wouldn't do anything to displease the person who could take his life away so quickly. "How may I repay you?"
