Felix grinned. She would be staying here a couple of days, just to make sure that her arm would be fine and that she wouldn't have to skip off into the streets again and get attacked. Right now, she wouldn't be going until she was ready. The werewolf returned to the couch, lounging on it as carelessly as before, closing her eye. Felix was tired, but still, she enjoyed Rufiel's company. She stretched her arm out, before laying still again, the only movement her chest moving, along with her lips when she went to speak.
"There's always a future. You can't change the past, but what is to come is something that you make for yourself. I'm not a philosopher, and I'm not a therapist, but I'll hope that you do listen to me. You don't deserve all that pain."
It was true, for nobody ever really enjoyed hurting themselves like that. Everybody deserved better than what they had been dealt with, Felix knew that well enough. She had lost both her parents, and was powerless to stop it. And so, she began to fight, to grow stronger, to stop that from happening again, to have the ability to fight off the things that would cause her pain in this world to the best of her own abilities. However, not always did that work. Some things were even beyond that, beyond material things and people, sometimes diseases, and others, just a force of nature that she couldn't combat. At his question, a smile fluttered to the young woman's lips. "Yes, he's my lover." And she listened to the rest of what Rufiel said in silence.
"There's hope for you, everybody has hope, a future in store for them. Lucian's different, though, and that's why I think I love him so much. He's worth protecting, I know it. It keeps me attached to this world."
The small werewolf had found Lucian when one of the guards down in the Underground was abusing him, and she had intervened. His eyes were what made her decide to take him in, they held so much promise and hope in them. Lucian had sworn to do anything she wanted, that he would repay her back by any means neccessary, and Felix had agreed, knowing that she couldn't change his mind. However, she truly did care for the half demon, and had fallen head over heels in love with him. He had brought her up from the mencholy moods that Felix often had found herself wallowing in, and she was sure that the two of them would be able to have a truly happy life, someday.
"You'll find her someday, Rufiel. There's someone out there for you." She looked over to him, smiling. "Until then, be satisfied with the friends you have."

Rufiel looked down, chuckling a bit at her words. "Heh... I think a girl in my life's a long way off... but thanks for the words of encouragement."
It was a little dark out now, and the sky began to glitter a bit with the glow of countless stars suspended in the heavens. Night was upon this corner of the world, and the streets slowly had become quieter as people retired into their homes. Rufiel was perfectly fine with the idea of her staying until her arm healed up, a roomate was not all that bad... especially a chick. However, his mind was far away from anything even slightly sexual. This didn't change a fact that a chick decided to stay at his place for a while. A smug sensation came over him, but his self satisfaction was short lived when he realized what terms had brought her underneath his roof. She was shot and wounded... near death as a matter of fact, if the silver in her bloodstream hadn't been neutralized. At the thought of that, he burst out into laughter. How ironic that a woman would have to be soaked in her own blood and clinging onto consciousness to be able to come over to his place. His laughter stopped when he realized that he must have freaked the young petite werewolf out with his outburst and ended it with a gruff 'ahem'.
"Room's in the back if you're tired" he said, jerking his thumb in the direction of his bedroom. "I'll take the couch... don't think I've slept a day in that bedroom since the day I moved here. I'll be up for a while, all this drama interrupted my workout."
He got up from his seat, unraveling the towel that had been slung around his neck and moving over to the passageway that lead to the bathroom. Removing his shirt as to not get sweat on it, he leapt up and grabbed the top of the passageway. With minimal effort, he began his chin-ups and let his mind wander to the young werewolf's words. This Lucian guy was a big shot, he'd heard that name everywhere. According to what he knew, Lucian was head of a corporation called Zanecorp or something... and this chick was screwing his brains out on a daily basis? Man, she must've been loaded... Rufiel would've bet anything that he probably spoiled her with the finer things. She led a blessed life, considering the hardships she went through in her earlier life.
"Just let me know when you're tired, and I'll set the bed for ya" Rufiel said between chin ups, his words filled with the strain of his workout. In just a short time, he had done over eighty. He was restless, and working out was his only positive outlet of energy. He'd head out to a local gym, but doing so would prove futile. The kickboxing and boxing gyms would provide very little workout for him... not too many beings alive could go toe to toe with a lycan, and he didn't want to go to jail because he punched a hole in someone's gut by accident. Rufiel had the control... but he lacked the patience to control it when it was necessary.
Having power was one thing... controlling it properly was a completely different issue for him.
His workout continued in silence as he also thought about the fighting to protect someone. He didn't have that, hell it was no secret that Rufiel didn't really trust others that well. This girl had earned his trust by accepting the truth behind Rufiel's false gruffness. Although she was a temporary guest, he could start by protecting her for the time being. It'd make good practice for the time that he would have to protect someone other than her... IF he ever did. Perhaps the truth lay in his reasons for fighting? What would vengeance accomplish? It wouldn't bring his parents back from the dead... and proving his might by doing so would still leave him alone and empty. He'd have to think for a while before he came up with an answer for himself. Such revelations could never come from another individual, it was a personal battle he would have to win. This battle would take a while, Rufiel was sure of it.
Thanks to this young werewolf, he now had a little more patience in order to seek the answer.

She laid back down, eyes closed once more, just to mull things over, when the laughter hit her ears. Looking over to him, she watched, slightly confused, but couldn't help but bring a smile to her face. Obviously, he must have found something funny, but when it stopped, Felix didn't let that smile drop, even with his little 'ahem' at the end of it, as if trying to redeem his dignity or something that Felix didn't really care about. Felix nodded, saying, "Okay, if you're sure.. I don't mind taking the couch, really." Felix closed her eyes again as he rose, referring to her visit as drama. That didn't surprise her, as nearly everything she did resulted in such things like that. It was just the way the litle werewolf worked, always stirring things up when she could. Felix liked things very lively, and wouldn't have her life any other way.
The sounds of his work-out were muffled, but Felix could still tell, despite the fact that she was near sleeping, almost basically passed out on his couch. As he continued with building his muscles, Felix nodded. "Okay, I'll let yah know.." She buried herself slightly more into the couch, letting out another soft sigh. This werewollf trusted him as well. After all, he could have killed her numerous times, beginning with the start of her visit. She had been nearly exhausted, and he could have easily slit her throat at the door. As well, she had exposed her neck to him numerous times, another easy way to get murdered. And then, she had invaded his perseonal space, touching him, a Lycan, someone way stronger than her, being what she was, and the state that Felix had been in. It was easy to tell that Felix wasn't up to scratch, and yet, she was happy that she had met Rufiel, a new friend for her, to help Felis, and to be helped in return.
One thing that Felix possessed was something liek being charismatic, and somewhat reading people's minds, more like just getting something like a quick overview, rather than a full, in-depth sweep if it. As she got more comfortable with a person, she would do it more often, and, at times, stop it all together. Howeveer, Felix was curious, and let that small radar she had be filled with Rufiel's thoughts. Her eyes instantly snapped open, having heard enough from what had been going through his mind. ZaneCorp, Lucian, vampire, screwing, loaded, riches, finer things. She laughed, looking over at him, slightly twisting as to see him better, though still nestled comfortably in the couch. "Hey, I'm sorry to burst the bubble of your thoughts, and to invade on them, but... I'm not with Lucius Erif, Rufiel. Actually.. I'm with someone I rescued from the Underground." The last bit was uttered quietly, though she wasn't ashamed of it, just unsure of his views on slavery in this city at the moment.
Getting up fully, Felix said, "Okay, I think I'm gonna go tah sleep.. want help making the bed?" She would do what she could to help Rufiel while she stayed here, not wanting to be a useless guest.

With a growl, Rufiel pulled himself up and with an impressive display of strength and agility, he brought his feet up to the ceiling, suspending himself upside down for a moment. He then released his grip, letting himself fall with a series of quick flips before he landed on his feet. He slipped both hands in his pockets and stared at her with narrowed eyes. "I don't know if ya got some kind of mind reading power or somethin" Rufiel stated tersely, "but sharing a roof with ya is one thing... my thoughts however are off limits, got it?" He walked briskly past, his hair covering the redness of the face. He knew full well she could see it, and it annoyed him to no end. Still, she was a guest... and he'd get used to it somehow. It still pissed him off though. "Get over here... let's get this bed fixed." He made his way into the room, kicking the empty boxes that had been there since he first "moved" in. They must have belonged to the previous homeowners before him... good thing they left him with some furniture when they moved out, he'd have hated to sleep on the floor. The mattress was situated in the corner, with a sturdy looking bed frame and a nice window side view. He walked over to the corner and opened up his traveling bag and pulled out a folded blanket. It was his personal blanket, one that he had taken with him when he was a child the night his mother and father were murdered. It had kept him warm for so many years while he slept underneath the stars, and protected him from the cold. It was big enough to cover a full grown man, let alone a female... she'd be kept warm through the night. listen as you read"Use that" he said, tossing the blanket onto the bed. "Should be enough to keep you toasty. Try to get some rest, the silver's almost out of your system, but heat due to excessive and unnecessary movement could stimulate the blood reaction all over again. Leave everything to me, and you'll be fine." He guided her over to the bed and made for the door. "One more thing... he said, looking over his shoulder. "Thanks for comin to my doorstep. Couldn't have asked for a better guest." After he spoke those words, he briskly walked out of the room, making for the sofa. Plopping down, he lay with his eyes awake. His thoughts swam over the day's events, and he had to make sense of what was happening to him now. An epiphany, a charge to protect a stranger, hospitality... it was all so daunting at first, but he felt as if he would grow more accustomed to it eventually. His ebony eyes made their way to the crescent moon suspended in the sky outside of his window. The illuminant glow bounced off his eyes, giving them the impression that they were glowing a golden luster. He would lay awake for a while, watching over his new charge. He knew he said it would take a while before he could find someone worth protecting... but even though his new guest was a pain in the ass sometimes, he couldn't help but enjoy her company. He would protect her until she could once again protect herself... she would be the first person he would ever have to fight for other than himself. A deep sigh permeated from between his lips. His thoughts were suddenly overwhelmed by sudden boredom. With a growl of impatience, he turned his face away from the moon. "Hope the bastards that did this to her hurry the hell up" Rufiel muttered quietly to himself. "I'm sooo bored... I need some action in this damn city..." His mother always said he was a restless one...

Felix grinned, his blush making her hold back a laugh, though some of it got out. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said, following him, unable to take this too seriously, "but I just couldn't help it." That itself was a partial lie, but it didn't matter to the little werewolf. He wouldn't get too angry at her, after all. "Really, I am." But the smirk that stayed on her face, had he turned around to see it, proved otherwise. Easily following him, Felix grinned even more upon seeing the bedroom. The window that was near the bed itelf was a good size, and reminded her of the sliding glass doors in her own room, nice and big, giving her the ability to either open up or seclude herself from the world outside. She sat on the bed, and the blanket was placed in her hands, a soft and supple on, at that. "Thanks," she said, and then continued, "Oh, alright.. Wake me up if it gets past three in the afternoon, 'kay?" Felix was one of those people that fell asleep whenever they wanted or needed to, having no kept body schedule. It was odd, but Felix liked it that way, for things were more convinient than what they would have been. But as the Lycan went to leave, she looked up at Rufiel, her thoughts jolted slightly. "Couldn't have asked for a better host." He walked out, and Felix got up, one more time, to quietly shut the door, and make sure that the window was wide open.
Sleeping sounding, wrapped up tightly in the blanket that he had provided her with, Felix had no dreams, but a nice, calm sleep, awaking only once or twice, shifting position, and then resuming gathering up her energy. By morning, however, the little werewolf ended up near the foot of the bed, uninjured arm hanging slightly off the matress. And then, another shift in position, curling up impossibly unto herself, a soft whimper coming from her, and then ceasing, peaceful expression replacing that slightly panicked one.
And then, the sun began to rise, replacing the crescent moon that had caotrured Rufiel's attention the night before. Felix awoked, and pressed the blanket to her nose, the scents mixing together, and she sighed. The werewolf wouldn't be getting anywhere, not yet, at least. Kayen.. he didn't like her, and yet.. she was glad, as odd and crazy as it sounded, to find a friend in the turmoil that he had left. She stretched out, a small yawn coming to her, before closing her emerald eyes, snoozing once more, not fully asleep, but more or less on the borderline of it, halfway in and out of consciousness. Felix muttered something quietly in her sleep, something unintelligible, and sighed contently afterward, letting her mind go back to dreaming now, the dreams peaceful and slightly slurred together, oddly, though, but enough to make Felix content in her own little dream world.
Waking up around noon or so, she pulled the poor, abused cell phone out of her pocket, turning it on, and began to shift through her vice mails, listening intently to each one, before dropping the phone in mild shock, jumping to her feet. Instantly, the pain phased back, and she had to take a couple of deep breaths to steady herself against the wall. Opening her door and returning to the living room, Felix looked around for Rufiel, finding him easily.
"He's dead!" she whispered, looking up at him with green eyes, uncertain of how she should take this news. "Kayen Storm was murdered!" It made Felix was to dance with joy, and yet, there was that tension in her stomach that showed something wasn't right, and the werewolf knew it. It was apprehension of what was to come, for now, it wouldn't be too pretty. "A third party killed 'im."
