28 Months Later

The year is 2015, and the United States has been abandoned, thousands of civilians have relocated to Canada and Mexico. You question what string of events has brought all of this on? Well here’s your answer:

It’s been 28 months since the rage virus swept across Europe, Asia, and Africa. They say that the Rage virus is like AID’s, passed by bodily fluids. Currently, the Infected are trapped, and all military personnel refuse to go and kill them, so the civilians can return home. Thousands of the citizens have migrated to Australasia, North & South America, Antarctica, and many of the islands. The year is 2014, and the President is Jim O’Hara, previous Secretary of Defense of the United States. Sergeant Major Kale Nielsen is now the new Secretary of Defense, and over looks all U.S personnel actions.

January 21st, 2014: O’Hara has just returned from a meeting with the French minister of foreign affairs; Alexandre Marcel Devereaux. The Minister has taken refuge in Alberta, Canada, along with many of the board members. Devereaux has demanded that O’Hara send the U.S troops to France, and secure the borders so he can return home. After hours of negotiating, O’Hara refused to send his men to their death, leading to an exterminated friendship with the French. On the other hand, the U.S have started to secretly fund Dr. Jill & Brett Murphy, placing all of their hope with them, hoping that they can find a cure or vaccine of some sort.

April 16th, 2014: The Murphy’s have worked tirelessly, but they have yet to find a cure. After a report aired on CNN, the U.S citizens have gone into mayhem, the world’s populace has decreased by half, due to the Rage virus. The scientists declared that it was almost incurable, and that the anti-bodies did not help at all. The President has been working tediously to make sure that the funds are going through for the research, sending the U.S into a spiral plunge of debt. Major Nielsen has ordered new weapons for each soldier, sending the U.S into even more debt.

June 1st, 2014: Madison Clark and her squad are stationed at Chicago, Illinois to guard the Murphy residence. Jill Murphy added Penicillin to a Petri dish, and in return; that caused the Rage virus to shrink, very little though. O’Hara has just received news that one of the Infected swam across the ocean, and infected all of the citizens on a island near Indonesia. Using all of his will power, the President and the board have kept the news under wraps; if the citizens found out, everything would be a living hell.

October 19th, 2014: After an assassination attempt on O’Hara, the security has been bumped up to the top notch. A few days later, the man finally told the authority who sent him; Alexandre Devereaux. The man stated the Alexandre planned to kill the President, and then take his claim on the U.S.A. Once the plot made local headlines, Devereaux went into hiding, and the board members went with him. Jill & Brett Murphy both traveled to a NATO meeting, to explain to the country leaders about their finds. Currently, there is no cure, but they are slowly getting closer and closer.

December 21st 2014: Devereaux has been killed by some agents in the Delta Force, a punishment for his little plot. There has been news that the Infected have swam across the frigid waters from Great Britain, over Iceland, and Infected the whole country. This little out break has Major Nielsen on the edge of his seat, he has sent 600 troops to the Canadian border. The American government, now trillions of dollars into debt, have continually tried to comfort the citizens, stating that they are going through an recession, when the problem is much bigger than that. All of the countries that have traded with them in the past, no longer exist; they have already been infected, with the exception of Australasia, Canada, and South America.

February 29th 2015: The Murphy’s have finally found the base for finding a vaccine, for now they working to make it more resistant. Over the past few months, O’Hara has been closely observing the Murphy’s work, shadowing them every step of the way, while also telling NATO officials that they have already found a cure, and are now making replicates. The new weapons have finally come in, nearly a year later. During a secret meeting with O’Hara, Nielsen has agreed to send out the weapons to all of the forts located in the U.S.A. Madison and her fire squad have been pulled out, and stationed in Washington, D.C; to protect all private personnel.

May 1st, 2015: Brett Murphy has found a family of five, who are willing to be test subjects for the vaccine. The family consists of a mom and dad, 2 older sons, and 1 daughter. O’Hara has put the experimentation on hold so that the Murphy’s can travel with him, to answer questions about vaccine and how it works, to the officials of NATO. Madison Clark and her fire squad have been released to go and spend time with their families, just until the next deployment.

August 2nd, 2015: The family have been injected the vaccine, and so far nothing has happened. Rose, the daughter complains of some side effects, which in return, has sent the Murphy’s back to Chicago to research, and try to eliminate all side effects. Major Nielsen has pulled all troops back from the Canadian border, since it has been a few months and no new reports of an outbreak have surfaced. The U.S.A has calmed down considerably, after hearing news that a possible vaccine has arisen.

November 30th, 2015: 3 months and 28 had passed without any side effects, when all of the Murphy’s research when down the drain. Around 2 PM, the Seyfrit family became delusional, and the next hour, they had turned into one of the Infected. All family members were at work, and school, causing the virus to spread extremely fast. The next day, most of the Chicago populace had become infected; sending the USA into a country wide frenzy. The President ordered ¾ of the Army to become stationed at the Canadian border, as he, government representatives, the Murphy’s, and thousands of citizens that weren’t infected, moved up to Canada. The other fourth stationed themselves in Chicago, sealing the city off so that no one could get out. Major Nielsen all of the troops to exterminate any & everything that moved in sight; he wasn’t taking chances. When a code red broke out, Madison Clark and her fire team was called to duty, they were to station themselves at one of the exits in Chicago. The virus had spread to other major cities when a handful of the Infected ventured outside of the barricades.

December 10th, 2015: The Mexican Army has stationed themselves at the American border, hopefully to stop the Infected from venturing to South America. President Jim has ordered the National Guard to station themselves at the Infected cities located in the US; Los Angeles, Louisville, New Orleans, Manhattan, Atlanta, Memphis, St. Louis, and Phoenix. All other U.S personnel are stationed at the Canadian borders. The Murphy’s moved their lab to Quebec, and now work endlessly to find a cure; they will not give up. When Rick Gerhardt, Madison’s most loyal friend, was killed because he was mistaken for one of the Infected, she decided to go and help handful of citizens that were left.

28ML follows a group of survivors, who have no way out of Chicago. The leader, Madison is a tough chick who will do anything her power to get these people out of here. Her friends are loyal, and over the past few days, they have went and gathered up the left over citizens. This plot is full of action, tad bits of romance, and horror. The question now is; Will Madison succeed and get the people out alive, or will the Infected kill them all?
