Name: No one knows her real name, not even her. She signs her work as ~S.H. When people ask what to call her she reply’s “Shadow”
Alias: The Hunter (She earned this title while working as a junior assassin to a wealthy mobster in her earlier years. The title is meant to portray that she was the best in her league)
Sex: Female/ She-Wolf/ Bitch <-This wasn’t meant to be obnoxious
Sexuality: Straight
Race: Werewolf
Powers/Abilities: She can ‘Control’ shadows, being able to call, shape and move them at her will, Because of her werewolf existence she is immensely strong, and is able to lift things five times her own weight (Hope that’s not too much)
Age: 19
Height: 6’1’’
Weight: 145lbs (Though she weighs a little more than most girls her age, it’s all muscle, as her wolf is so active. Unfortunately this means that she can’t swim as her body fat is so low she would sink straight away)
Occupation: Author, Assassin (This is a ‘Part-Time’ job, if you will. She is an assassin whenever needed, but other than that she is perfectly normal. Or, as normal as a werewolf can be)
Weapon(s): Dual Dao swords (A single sword that curves slightly and can be spilt in two. Look it up on Google ;P), Various knives, Poisons when needed
Accessories:
Human- She wears a leather collar with stainless steel studs; she also sports a stainless steel stud earring (She can’t wear or touch silver, but she likes the silver colouring better than gold), she wears a black bandana around her right arm, covering most of her dragon tattoo and the scar that runs through it’s neck.
* When she joined the mob she had to have a tattoo, so she decided on a black Chinese dragon that was highlighted/ outlined in blood red
* She got the scar while on a mission; it cuts right through her dragon’s neck, making it look like the head’s sliced right off
Wolf- Same as her human form, except that she doesn’t have the bandana or tattoo, you can see the scar on her right fore-arm though. As well as the scar that appears on her human form she also has a scar that slashes across her right eye, inflicted in the same fight as the other scar (This one doesn’t show up on her human form)
Appearance:
Human- Shadow has a medium build and is quiet tall; she walks with a confidence that was earned through years of training and fighting. She has dark brown hair and olive skin.
She holds herself with authority and pride, her face and body language suggest that she doesn’t take shit.
Her clothes include a black leather jacket, a grey singlet top underneath, dark blue, faded, jeans, black stud belt, and steel-toed boots.
She always carries her dual swords strapped to her back, as a precaution. And if they fail, she has numerous concealed knives as back-up
Wolf- She has black fur, two scars and fangs. A wolf like any other really, except for her silver eyes. Oh and size, she’s 4’2’’ at the shoulder, the same height as a small human. Which is very bad. For them *Evil smirk*
Personality:
Human- She is short tempered and impatient, preferring to work alone. This is also how she lives, having nothing but her dogs and snakes for company, she likes it this way.
In her earlier life she lost a close friend, they were shot when they got in the way of enemies. As a result she doesn’t socialize much, afraid that when she dose meet a friend, or worse a mate, she won’t be able to protect them.
Wolf- Even in her wolf form she is a loner, she hasn’t and never will be part of a pack. She preys on anything and anyone that takes her fancy, not having a drop of remorse if her chosen targets are humans. She views them as a natural part of the world, they prey and are preyed upon, it’s just the way of life.
Appealing Characteristics:
Human- Her legs their long and lean, her eyes (she doesn’t actually have an eye colour, e.g. gold around the outside, which turns to brown, which juts out to dark blue, then light blue, light green, dark, then grey then black), her intelligence,
Wolf- Her midnight-black fur, silver eyes
Appalling Characteristics:
Human- Her temper and lack-of patience, her merciless temperament
Wolf- Her natural want to hunt and/or fight, her blood-lust, she has an even worse temper after ‘Changing’ because of the painful process (Honestly, I don’t believe that In-One-Second-Without-Any-Pain crap that you see in the movies. I reckon it would be damn painful to change your shape, your muscles have to stretch and re-knit, your spine has to elongate for a tail and so on. That’s why I’m making my character’s transformation over twenty or so minutes and hurt)
Likes: Books, Reptiles, Canines, Sushi, Red meat, Hunting, Knives/ Swords, War
Dislikes: Water, Felines, Crowds, Humidity, Heat, Make-up and shopping
Fears: Arachnophobia, Acrophobia (Feels dizzy whenever she looks up at great heights or down from them), Hydrophobia (This is only a small fear of swimming as explained in her weight) Will this be enough? This is all I can think of that will fit with her character
Strengths: Literature, Strength, Stamina, Speed, Agility
Weaknesses: Water, Flexibility, Math’s, Sympathy, Silver
History:
“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” a grubby looking girl with a strong American accent bent down, inspecting the other child with interest. “What’s your name then?” she asked, brushing a strand of blonde fuzz out of her face, “Mine’s Aimee. That’s A-I-M-E-E, not A-M-Y” She giggled at her own joke then looked expectantly at the ‘kid’ in front of her
“My names…” the girl faltered, trying to remember her name “I…I don’t know. I don’t remember, where am I anyway?” she gazed around the alien place, listening to the strange sounds, “A long way from home, that’s for sure” Aimee declared, plonking down next to the strange girl, “By that accent I’d say you were an Aussie, through and through”
“Yeah, I think I am” the girl said, memories flashing before her eyes. “I…remember the gums trees…How they smelt and…and how I used to chase the roos” She rubbed her head in a attempt to bring back more memories, instead it sent a jolt of pain through her skull. Wincing, she pulled her hand away, only to find it smeared with blood.
Aimee whistled as she inspected her new friends head “Jeeze. I’m surprised your brains haven’t fallen out!” The girl snorted and rolled her eyes “Thanks for that, I really need to know”
The grubby child smiled, “It’s my pleasure. Now, let’s get you back to the shelter”
Aimee helped the stray to her feet and, taking her by the arm, steered her out of the dim alleyway and into the bright, noisy streets of --------
“Now” she said, still walking “We need to get you a name. How ‘bout…Monica?” The child’s glare gave her enough answer “Hey!” she exclaimed, holding up her hands in defense “Just trying to help!”
As they walked down the street a lingering comment could be heard…”But seriously, think about it” followed by a sharp slap and an “Ow!”
* * *
A woman sat at a small, second-hand table, reading a donated magazine from last month, as Aimee ran through a small door. “Hey Dee!” She called out “I’ve got another one!” The woman didn’t even look up from her magazine, “Bring ‘em here” she commanded with a Texas drawl. The girl looked uncertain but, with a little urging from Aimee, she stepped toward the grubby desk.
Dee glanced up with an unimpressed look which quickly changed to shock, “This girl ain’t from ‘round here is she?” the woman asked over said child’s shoulder “No” came the reply “She’s from Australia”
“What’s you’re name then?” Dee asked, inspecting her in a way similar to Aimee
“I don’t know” she replied with honesty “I can’t remember” the woman walked behind her and for some unknown reason she had to restrain a growl. She didn’t like people behind her where they weren’t visible.
“I hear them Aussies are real hard workers, an’ you ain’t short neither. We could use your kind ‘round here. Lot’s a heavy lifting ta be done”
The girl grunted an affirmative, before realizing what Dee had said “Wait! What?! I’m only looking for a place to stay the night!”
Unexpectedly the woman gave a short bark of laughter “Ain’t we all?” then she grew serious “Look kid. If your gonna stay here ya gotta work. Comprende?” the Aussie nodded in reply.
“Right!” Dee clapped her hands together “Aimee, please take our ‘guest’ to the room” the American lead the other girl through another doorway and into the next hall.
“Please tell me that she forgot to make that last word into a plural” the girl whispered to Aimee
“Nope!”
She groaned
* * *
After Aimee had introduced the new girl to the hoard of others, name by painstaking name, they all sat down on the floor, chattering noisily.
“So” Aimee declared, “I was thinkin’, we should give you a name. I already tried and got beat up for my trouble” she self-consciously rubbed a bruise on her arm. “Let me tell you girls” she said to the gathered group “Don’t mess with this chick, she’s got a lot’a spark, and the muscles to back it up” giggled amongst themselves for about a minute, before Aimee interrupted again. “So. Who’s up with ideas? Anyone? Come on there must be someone!”
Timidly, a girl raised her hand “Yeah?” the girl gulped, “Jamie?” the Australian shook her head, not having said a word, and not planning to either.
After that, all the girls joined in, suggesting names that the girl always turned down, wanting something different, something unique.
In the end, they didn’t find her a name, so the decided to call her ‘You’, which she didn’t mind so much. The girls were all really friendly, they talked to her, tried to involve her. But she just sat in a corner, nodding or shaking her head as was appropriate.
One girl, Chloe, was horrible, teasing her about this or that, ordering her around. Because of the girl’s stubborn nature, and self control, she was able to put up with it for a couple of months. Then Chloe hit a nerve, and pushed it. And pushed it. Until it finally snapped, and the girl with it. On that say Chloe learned how vicious the newcomer really was.
* * *
Chloe had an annoying habit of using the girls name to get under her skin; where the other girls treated ‘you’ as a real name, such as; ‘You! Where goin’?’ or, asking another girl if the job was too heavy ‘Do you think You can do this?’
Chloe on the other hand, treated it as a word, not a name, like ‘Hey you! Get over here’ or ‘What are you doing?!’
One day, Chloe pushed it too far.
* * *
‘You’ was tidying up the bedroom, it was actually Chloe’s turn but she had asked, well, more like ordered ‘You’ to do it instead, when Chloe and her laughing baboons strode in, They, purposely, lay across all the beds that she had just made. Sighing, she picked up the last bit of dirty laundry and walked towards the door.
That’s when she heard it; over the past few weeks she had noticed that her hearing had gotten so good that she could hear someone’s heartbeat as the talked to them.
“Where do you think her family is?” whispered one of the group, “I bet they abandoned her” another whispered back, gripping the basket tightly with white knuckles, she forced herself to take another step, away from their conversation.
“Yeah,” Chloe agreed “I bet her mum was a whore, and her dad was a druggie and they sold her ‘cause she was too stupid to even learn how to speak” ‘You’ hadn’t talked because she didn’t see the need to, everyone could understand her fine and she didn’t need to speak to listen and understand.
But the comment about her parents sent her over the edge. She spun around, flung the basket to the ground and stalked over to the group who all looked startled except for Chloe, the bitch. She, just look haughty. “Awww…Is little ‘You’ having a temper tantrum?” she drawled to her sniggering pets, “I bet she can’t even understand us” one whispered to another.
“Did I tell you to stop cleaning?” Chloe asked in her coldest voice, it was so arctic that icicles seemed to drip off it.
“No’ ‘You’ answered, surprising herself by how deep her voice was, if it had been a few octave lower she would have sounded like a man. Instead, she sounded like a predator, and a hungry one at that.
It was the first time she’d spoken in months, and the first time in front of the girls. They gawked at her openly, only now remembering her ability to lift three times as much as they could.
“You didn’t. What where you saying about my family?” she asked her own voice twice as cold, she even saw one of the girls shiver. “Oh. Just the truth” their leader drawled “About how you were kicked out of your own house for stupidity” ‘You’ felt her jaw work in suppressed anger, a girl leant over and whispered into her assailant’s ear “Chloe, I don’t think we should…” Chloe brushed her away in annoyance, “And” she continued, oblivious to the impending danger “How we think that your parents were sluts” the other girls looked uncomfortable and sidled away.
The Australian had her eyes closed, breathing heavily, trying to suppress her rage. “What’s the matter?” Chloe taunted, not realizing how close to death she was, “Mummy and Daddy dead?”
That tipped her, with a vicious snarl, ‘You’ leapt forward, grabbing the girl around the neck with one hand and lifting her effortlessly off the ground.
The other girls gasped and screamed, running around the room in a torrent of chaos. Meanwhile the Australian was trying with all her might to restrain herself from crushing the other girl’s windpipe.
Suddenly, attracted by the screaming, Aimee rushed in. She took one look around the room and ran to her friend, “You!” she called, trying to catch her attention, “Stop! Put her down!” in her fit of rage, the predator probably would have killed anyone who came between her and her ‘Prey’ she was relying on instincts now, her conscious mind was buried beneath a mound of anger, rage and pain.
Aimee grabbed hold of her friend’s raised arm and tried to lower it in order to get to Chloe, but seeing as her head barely reached ‘You’s’ shoulder that wasn’t going to work.
Looking around frantically, she spied a bucket of water that one of the girls had been using for cleaning. She bolted to it, barely stopping to pick it up before she turned and chucked it at her friend.
Caught off guard, the predator stumbled backwards, shocked by the icy water. Chloe managed to claw her way free, she turned and glowered at the person who she thought had anger management issues, but who was actually lost in a millennia if instincts “Jeze! I knew you were a weird one!”
The animal in front of her snarled, showing canines that were fast turning into fangs, she screamed in fright, loosing hold of her dignity and sprinted for the door, pushing the aside other girls as she raced for her life.
Aimee had to think fast, her friend was turning into some kind of animal, right before her eyes! She watched in awed horror as the girl’s body contorted, her face elongated to accommodate the teeth that were shifting and growing inside her maw.
Her spinal column lengthened, causing her shoulders to hunch over in agony.
The American had a good idea of what was happening, she’d read enough horror books to recognize the symptoms, fangs, anger, bloodlust, her best friend was turning into a werewolf.
Most people would have a hard time believing that was what this was, but Aimee had seen things that no other human had. And never were supposed to. Though, to be honest, she had never seen a werewolf.
To her shock what stood before her was a wolf, not a half human, half wolf thing you see in the movies. No. This was a fully developed, pissed off beyond reason, wolf.
The weird thing was, that A- it had the grayish-black eyes of her friend, and B- it was almost as tall as her. The animal reached to just under her shoulder, about four, foot, two.
I was beautiful! She gasped as her sight wandered over the glossy black coat and ivory white fangs, both gleaming in the sunlight.
Her problem now was; how to contain an angry werewolf? The shift had look painful, her joints and muscle relocating and stretching to points that would have broken a human’s beyond repair.
That, combined with the fury that started the actual shift had made her friend the most terrifying sight Aimee had ever seen.
* * *
“So” the man circled his prey with an unyielding gaze, “You want to become one of us” It was a statement, not a question, the girl nodded anyway.
Three years had passed since she had first shifted, changing into a wolf before her friend’s very eyes. After her forced transformation, she had perfected it and now had complete control over her wolf.
“What can you offer me? Besides a pretty face?” the man chuckled as ‘You’ looked on indifferently. After a moment of silence the man looked at her expectantly, waiting.
“Well?!” he asked impatiently as she still didn’t answer. The girl remained unmoving, even as his harsh tone bounced off around the office. “What do you want me to bring?”
The question was simple, yet promising. He raised his eyebrows with interest, “Well…” he looked her up and down, as if inspecting livestock, “We do need some undercover agents to…” the girl interrupted him with a cold glare “I’m not going to be hired as a lap dancer.” Her voice was firm and sure.
“To me, that’s all you look good for” the man sat down behind his desk again, looking over his files with a bored expression.
“I have fighting skills” the mobster gave a short bark of laughter, “We already have enough of them” he answered, jerking his thumb over his shoulder at the two bodyguards standing ridged behind him.
As he watched, the girl gave an amused smirk, “Ah. Yes. But you don’t have anything like me” He gave her a serious look “You don’t know what your getting yourself into kid” he stated, turning away, “Go find a job delivering pizza’s. The underworld is no place for children”
Enough was enough, the girl took two short paces forward and slammed her palm down on the desk, in an instant the two guards were moving forward, ready to defend their boss. “How can I prove myself if you won’t give me a chance?!” she hissed, eye’s simmering with rage.
“I could take on your two pretty boys over there and win easily!” the underlord seemed amused by this statement; “Very well, lets see how you fare. If I like what I see, your hired, if not, then you’re out on your ass” She nodded, taking a couple of steps backward as the two men approached, sneering. “Your goal is to reach me. If you can do that then…” he shrugged
She stood there, waiting for them to attack first. They raced towards her as one, obviously being trained to fight humans; dodging to the left, she stuck out her right leg and tripped the man closest to her. He landed flat on his face with a muffled crack. Well, she thought to herself, that was easy.
The other seemed to more experienced of the two and stood before the desk like a pit-bull guarding it’s kill. He had the same hungry eyes as one too, but she didn’t think he was after food.
His eye’s raked her body and she could virtually see him undressing her. She shuddered, and took a running leap, sailing through the air; she brought her leg around in an arc. Striking him on his right shoulder with her best axe kick…and failing miserably. Hardly flinching, he grabbed the offending limb with one hand and shoved it upwards, making her land on her rump with a most undignified ‘oof!’
Seeing this he smirked in triumph and turned to go back to his post. There was something he didn’t know about her though, she never gave up. Narrowing her eyes, she kicked upwards with her body, propelling herself up into a standing position. Before he could react, she crouched and brought her leg out again. This time sweeping it along the floor, and knocking him flat on his back.
She stood, and, in one, fluid motion somersaulted over his groaning mass. Landing, in a crouch on the desk, she held out an imaginary gun pointed at the underlord’s forehead. “Bang. Bang.” she said, pulling the imaginary trigger twice “You’re dead”
