8 Months After Araceli and Malachi First Met Araceli was pacing back and forth in the small space of her bedroom, in between the bed and vanity. She had no damn idea what to wear. Normally, her wardrobe was no problem. She wore what was comfortable to her, what she could easily move in and what she didn't mind throwing away if a little blood got on it. But tonight was different.
Much different.
The little Vampiress had been seeing the angel Malachi for exactly eight months now, and there was no doubt in her pretty head that she loved him with her whole life. Well, her whole unlife, at least. They were perfect for each other in so many ways, spending almost every conceivable moment together, laughing, teasing, making love. Ari was nothing short of blissful with the way that things had turned out. She finally had someone to love and who loved her equally in return.
She stopped for a moment in her pacing and turned to regard her closet once more, and then turned back to the open drawers of her vanity. She was dressed in nothing but a delicate black lace bra and matching panties, pretty things she had picked out especially for their enterprises later on in the evening. Her keen eyes flashed to the clock on her nightside table and the gleaming red numbers read 8:17pm--Chi had promised to pick her up at 8:30. She muttered a few naughty words in her native tongue and walked back to her closet. Her mane of chocolate brown hair was currently done in a half up, half down sort of style, with pretty brown waves cascading down her shoulders. Finally, she pulled out one of her favorite killer black sheath dresses from her enormous closet and laid it out on the bed to examine it. The rounded neckline was embroidered with an array of charcoal gray to white jewels and the had a very perfectly form fitting empire waist line. The hem of the dress hit just about the middle of her thigh, revealing just enough leg to still be classy. She unzipped the back and stepped into it, zipping up the back when her arms were through the sleeveless straps.
This dress was a knockout, of that there was no doubt, but she was too much the perfectionist to be completely convinced this was the perfect dress for their evening. She turned slowly around in the mirror, keen gaze examining her own form with a discerning eye and decided that the dress would do nicely. She pulled a pair of patent leather charcoal gray stilettos from her closet to match, her toenails and fingernails having been painted a charming red color.
She left her bedroom shortly after to move into the kitchen, nervous fingers tapping the counter. She had been giving Chi driving lessons in her Mercedes for the past month and had lent her favorite car to her perhaps overly cautious angel so that he could pick her up tonight. Her eyes once more grazed the clock and it now 8:26.

The angel eased the spotless Mercedes to a careful halt for what had to be the fifth time between the cathedral and Araceli's apartment...only to let a butterfly continue crossing the road unmolested.
Perhaps he just was not the driving type. It was nice, though, once Malachi got used to it. the purr of the car below him was relaxing, the calm silence of the interior like a bubble. The old man sat more easily now than he had when he had first ridden in his lover's highly luxurious car, the seat now adjusted to fit the large feathery wings at his back. With the butterfly safely on the other side of the road and plenty of car horns blaring behind him, the angel revved the gas pedal once more to blend back into the flow of traffic.
Well, sortof. Chi had the bad habit of standing out wherever he went, whether he wanted to or not, and driving was no exception. He drove with a careful slowness and aged resign that would've made him terrifically late had he not been also careful enough to give himself plenty of time. He sat back in his seat, watching the world zoom past on both sides, happy just to keep the car (and himself) out of harm's way in Noctum's maniacal streets.
Shrewd blue-greys glanced at the regal clock embedded in the dash as he pulled into the apartment complex. 8:22-- he was a little early! Must've been fewer butterflies, old ladies, stray dogs and such crossing the street in front of him today than usual. He conducted the unmistakable car in the direction of the garage, waving glibly at the guard, who only laughed in return and punched him in obligingly. By now, naturally, Chi knew the guard's name, his lot in life, and all about his wife and three daughters. The angel was just that sort of person-- the kind who people didn't mind opening up to, who would always listen, who cared.
At 8:26 the angel was standing before Ari's door. He was still a smidge early, but that only gave him a little time to try to surprise his lady while she was still...primping, or whatever mystery it was that made women into goddesses. Chi didn't mind not knowing this sort of thing-- it added a little romance to his life, which was always preferable to letting things drag on drably. He let himself in as quietly as possible, tiptoeing in his black dress shoes. Not, of course, that Malachi was quiet by any superhuman means, but that just wasn't one of his talents. Still, he held his breath and tried to avoid all the squeaky floorboards he was aware of while moving stealthily towards the back bedroom where he was sure to f--
Ah.
The 'sneaky' angel froze, realizing suddenly that he was an idiot. Chi turned to find his own angel standing by the kitchen counter, presumably watching him with a highly amused grin. He relaxed his tense posture, now feeling very mildly embarrassed. "Oh. I--er. I was sure you'd still be getting dressed. I...damn." He laughed lightly at himself, admiring Ari's well-dressed figure with a grin and a loving eye. He himself was quite nicely dressed as well, charming as all hell in a very classically tailored black dinner jacket over a stiff, white collared shirt. He moved towards her, gathering his little vampire up in his arms blithely. "Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes." He murmured in between kisses placed lightly but deliberately over her face.

Ari could hardly stifle the giggle that escaped her pleasant lips as she watched her love tiptoe "quietly" across her living room, eyes locked on her bedroom door. She presumed the angel would be having naughty thoughts about her, had she been able to read his mind, and she laughed lightly again when her wrapped his loving arms around her form.
"You silly, silly thing. Don't you know you'll never be able to sneak up on me!?" she asked, giving him a sly wink before he began placing kisses upon her ivory face. The smile on her lovely face was wide with bliss, and she took her loves face in her hands to bestow him with a more substantial kiss to his ever-delectable lips. Always one to get caught up in the passion that burned between the two, Ari had to use almost ever bit of her self control to part herself from the angel's embrace. She took a small step back to better examine her angel's attire.
"My love, you look... quite delectable in that get-up of yours." Her eyes twinkled with that slight carnal longing for her man, she couldn't help it. Ari then once more drew closer to her love, resting her head upon his shoulder, her arms wrapped comfortably around his neck. She breathed in his wonderfully familiar scent and the tilted her head back to better regard his beloved face.
She kissed him softly three times, one for each cheek and one for his lips; the gesture was an old Italian tradition among those in love, it symbolized to the receiver the giver's affections. Ari's eyes sparkled in the dimly-lit apartment and she felt, as she had for the past 8 months, blissfully happy.
"So, mio bellezza puimata, where are you taking me this evening?"

Chi relished this kiss she planted firmly on his lips, his mind spinning, as always, when he sensed the vampire's desire heating up against him. She tasted as good as she looked-- he was not terribly keen on letting her go, but she didn't go far. Far enough only to size him up, in fact, an opportunity he took for himself. He was rather dazzled by her, that long slender form, the darling eyes, her animated mane of hair. "The goddess of beauty flatters me." He smiled that private smile for her as she returned to his arms.
He would keep himself from disrobing her despite his huge inclination to, for now simply letting his hands roam up her bare thighs beneath the pretty dress she wore. The angel pulled her closer still as her arms wrapped around his neck, his eyes finding hers in a gaze that, between lovers, doubtless spoke volumes. Her soft kisses felt like a cool salve on all the aches in his soul. Chi was a bit more of a tragic figure than most of the angels, but when he had his little bird in his arms he felt so very much at peace.
"Oh, no. I'll never tell." The angel grinned a rather rare, wolfish sort of grin, the sort you saw when he was being mischeivous. Admittedly, that didn't happen often, but he was enjoying his sport for now. In reality, there were a pair of tickets and a ring deep within the pockets of his jacket, but that was something he could sneak on her. As his thoughts danced over his plans for the evening, he felt a silly grin replace the debonaire one, his heart skipping giddily around in his chest.
Chi took her little hands in his as he stepped back toward the door, apparently unable to take his eyes off of her. "Are you ready to go?"
Minutes later would find the two in Ari's car, that pleased smile apparently permanent on the angel's beautiful face. As the engine revved and he pulled quite carefully out of the parking spot, he hummed a tune that would probably be familiar to the vampire. It was the Overture to Verdi's Nabucco, a well-loved and popular piece. He wondered how close they would have to get to the town's regal old Operahouse before his lover realized quite where he was taking her...

Araceli followed her angel out the door and into the car, gracefully sliding into the passenger seat with ease. She was resigned with the fact the Chi was not exactly a speedy driver, though that's not to say that his old-man-driving didn't slightly frustrate her. Tonight, however, Ari was not going to let her loves ridiculous speed issue effect her. So she sat benignly in the passenger's seat, demure smile on her pleasant features and tried to take deep breaths as Chi went 25 in a 45.
Her preternatural ears picked up on the low humming that was coming from her angel's throat and she had to smile at the familiar tune, sometimes it seemed as though Chi just instinctively knew what she liked. It wasn't long before Ari's clever eyes picked up on where they were headed, the city-scape was getting more and more ritzy, they were entering the historical district; the area of the city that was filled with nice restaurants and grand theatres, it was one of the few classy places left in Noctum. She still didn't really know where the angel was taking her, but she loved a good surprise and the angel who currently had his hand wrapped tightly around her own was absolutely full of them.
It was only when they pulled into the parking lot beside the Opera house that Ari realized where they were going, though she hadn't really been too adamant on guessing. Chi parked a mile away from all the other cars and she gave a small laugh; he was a bit paranoid with her car, to say the least. She slipped out of her seat belt and opened the car door, her high heels making a soft tapping sound on the pavement when she got out. She walked around the front of the car and took Chi's hand once more in hers, not willing to be separated from his touch for any more than necessary. They walked into the entrance, people mingling in small pushes here and there and Chi fished two tickets out of his coat pocket to give to the man at the front desk. The young boy, currently dressed in a slightly ridiculous bow-tie get-up scanned the tickets quickly, tore off the ends, and then returned them to her angel. They then made their way through the lobby and into the main hall where people all around were moving to take their seats, and the Immortal couple quickly found theirs with ease.
They sat almost in unison and Ari leaned over to brush her soft lips against her angel's cheek, a wide grin gracing her features. "This is wonderful, bellezza, grazie mille," she said in a soft whisper, her mouth only centimeters from his ear. Her delicately pale hand raised up to lightly turn his face to hers so that she could place a kiss on his mouth, one filled with all the passion and love she felt for him. When they parted, the lights when down and the show started. Araceli leaned back in her seat, her hand comfortably encased in his and she relaxed to watch the beautiful scene progress, the music filling her senses with a beauteous abandon.
When the show was over, Ari was quite breath-taken, the opera had been exceedingly well done, all the musical scores executed flawlessly. She turned to her angel, a delicate smile on her face and kissed him. "Grazie, grazie, mio angelo," she said, truly appreciative of her love's thoughtful act. She stood, idly stretching out her muscles, even though her body felt no soreness. She had just sat through two hours of an opera and had hardly moved the entire time, her body accustomed to being still when movement was not a necessity.
The couple walked out of the theatre room hand in hand as per usual and when they reached the lobby she stopped and turned to face the glorious man she loved. "And I suppose you will not be telling me what you have planned next, bellezza?" she asked with a grin, her hand lifting up to place a kiss on his fingers.

The operahouse was gorgeous. The patrons were gorgeous. The opera was gorgeous. And yet, there seemed to be nothing that could tempt Chi's loving gaze from Araceli for more than 5 minutes. He would turn his eyes to the performers for a time, and then back to the vampiress, watching her face react to the show. It was clear he'd chosen well-- Chi delighted as the emotion of the music echoed empathically through the woman and into him, sensing her feelings like having a fine meal, as his empathetic ability manifested largely through taste. He would glance often over the rest of the audience from time to time as well, something in his eyes indicating that perhaps he was nervous around such a crowd.
It was a completely irrational anxiety, stemming from a rather unfortunate result at a ballet he'd attended in Paris in 1913 that resulted in a riot. Still, he had it mostly under control except for the small fact of his inability to keep from glancing around the room every 10-15 minutes or so, any time he felt someone around him become uncomfortable, annoyed or upset. Still, he was always comforted by the presence of his beloved by his side, her hand cradled in his.
The show finished to thunderous applause, Chi's included, naturally. He loved opera as much as the next man, it was just the very sensitive crowd that could sometimes upset him. Being an empath in such a place could be troublesome. Ari pulled him in for another dizzying kiss, though, one that made a young woman behind them quite green with envy. He smiled into her mouth, kissing her again lightly before he responded to her heartfelt thanks. "I'm just glad you enjoyed it so, my love." He stood as well, breathing deeply and arching onto his tip-toes for a moment to tug on his hamstrings.
They slipped out of the theater, only to pause in the lobby. He laughed as she kissd his fingers, that selfsame hand caressing her face lightly as he placed a loving kiss upon her forehead. "Oh no, tzipporet. I'll not tell you anything." His dark-wine, velvety voice purred for her alone, those incredible eyes gleeful and mysterious all at once. But he knew where they were headed, and the thought of it made him dizzy with excitement and nerves again, his heart beating boldly in his chest. "Come! You'll see!" And they were off again, back to the car after a small walk to the end of a somewhat large parking lot to get to where Malachi had left the car-- yards away from any other vehicles that might be so careless as to bump it.
He slid back into the seat lightly, the movements of his bear-like frame quite effortless, as though he weighed little more than one of the feathers in his wings. The engine revved with a touch of his heavenly hand, and they were off again in that careful way of his. He'd been surprised Ari hadn't teased him yet about his manner of conducting the luxurious car; he was all for speed in the air, of course, but the car-- well, mostly the other cars-- unsettled him. They wound through Noctum for a time, though, the windows cracked to allow the warm night air to drift through. The feeling of passing air calmed the angel; his heart was racing, now, and it was all he could do to keep sweat from beading in his hands. What if she refused him? What if-- what if he lost his nerve, or he said the wrong thing? What was he even going to say? He'd been over what was about to occur a thousand times in his head, and yet a thousand more times still didn't seem like enough.
Blue-grey eyes glanced over at the woman in the passenger seat, though, and he knew there was nothing he wanted more than to be hers, truly. Their love was the type of thing that his kind delighted to see but could rarely feel for themselves-- and yet here he was. Malachi would not let that pass him by for all the pearls of China.
The car finally pulled up the last bit of a hill, and into a place that would be highly familiar to both of them. It was here they had come the night after they'd met, a gorgeous setting, and quite empty but for the two lovers and the car. He couldn't help the grin that seemed permanently stuck to his face, hoping quite desperately that he wasn't giving himself away but unable to remove that smile even if he was. The angel exited the car-- he could feel his heart in his throat. Doubtless Ari could hear it, beating quickly enough to make Chi giddy with anticipation.
He moved towards the vampiress as her own door slipped closed behind her, embracing her for the moment as they had when they'd first come here, his arms snug around her little waist, face close in to the pale neck of his lover's fragrant body. "My dearest Araceli. My wild-heart. Surely you know...you must know how ardently, how fully I love you." He started, his voice a bit more serious and heartfelt than usual. He planted a kiss on her nearest temple, before turning her in his arms to face him. Her hands were held quite delicately in his now, belying a light tremor in his arms. "And surely you must know that I-- that I never want to be parted from you, and that the more I know you the more I love you. Every day I think I cannot possibly love you any more, little bird, and yet..." His eyes were locked on hers once more, light again with emotion, that heavenly, spiritual part of him hard to hold in check in his excitement. "You always surprise me. And I...I..." He withdrew one of his hands from hers as that glorious creature fell to one knee before his beloved, the hand diving into his pocket to produce a small grey box, which opened to reveal a ring that seemed to be carved by some immortal, unearthly hand out of a metal far outstripping silver in quality. "Araceli Lucani, my dearest love. Will you marry me?"

As they got in the car, Ari knew that her angel had something up his sleeve. Even though she couldn't read his mind, he was pretty lax about keeping his jovial emotions under wraps. He kept a giddy smile plastered to his face and her keen eyes easily picked up on the occasional tremor that ran through his muscles, like he was preparing himself for some great task he was about to perform. Of course, the ever-observant Vampiress was suspicious of her beloved, though she kept it to herself, not wanting to spoil his giddy mood.
The angel's driving of course made her chuckle quietly, overly cautious and vastly under the speed limit. She was still determined to keep her mouth shut, though and so she merely sat quietly in the passenger seat. They drove through the city at leisure and Ari wondered idly where on Earth her angel had planned to go. The cement buildings and darkened shops soon turned to softly rolling hills, and her mind flew to the night after they first met. She remembered vividly the beautiful scene of the brightly lit city splayed out before them, her beloved's strong arms wrapped tightly around her frame. And it was with those tender thoughts in mind, she watched as the angel pulled up to the same place she had taken him so many months before.
She glanced over at him, an inquisitive quirk to her brow and then followed suit as he got out. It wasn't long after she closed her door that the angel wrapped his loving arms around her slender build, his much loved lips bent down and pressed close to her elegant neck. She listened carefully as her dearest angel proclaimed his love for her, a soft smile gracing her features as the words touched her heart warmly. It was after those sweet claims were made that he released her and she turned to face him, her own delicate hands clasped gently by his own much larger, rough palms. When he told he he wanted never to be parted from him again, her demurely soft smile grew in size at a quick pace and she was just about to open her mouth to return his sentiments when he knelt and both his request and the ring came out.
To say that Araceli's jaw dropped would have been inaccurate. More--at least how she imagined herself--her jaw had gone crashing to the ground in a rather comical way, much reminiscent of Saturday cartoons from a simpler time. She pulled one of her delicate hands from his grasp and held it to her mouth, a small gasp leaving her parted lips and she had to force herself to blink a few times before she was able to respond at all. "Oh, Chi..." she finally murmured, the words leaving her mouth with a breathy tenure. She had to take a few deep breaths in the vain attempt to steady herself, for her vision was blurry and she couldn't think straight.
When she was finally past the utter shock of his proposal, a wave of uninhibited bliss rolled over her person, and she wished she was able to cry. She wrapped her delicate hand around the angel's arm, gently tugging him upwards so that he was once more on both feet and she flung her arms around him, her mouth emitting a soft cry of joy and she said, "Yes, Chi, yes. A thousand times, yes."
Never in her long life had she ever been as happy as she was at that moment. That night would remain in her memory forever as the happiest day in her unlife.

Malachi listened in to her emotions with rapt attention as his offer hung in the air, his eyes misted and questing. The kind angel expected her initial shock, which tasted like electricity in his mouth, needles in the bottoms of his feet. He didn't need to entreat her further, though, as she seemed to finally break from the trance of her surprise. And then, from surprise came utter joy. Before she even said yes, Malachi knew what her answer would be. He stood at her urging, arms curling around her to pull her in as close as possible.
"Yes, Chi, yes. A thousand times, yes."
The words sworled and echoed in his mind, her bliss flooding his senses until he couldn't separate his own joy from hers and he didn't care to. "Thank the Gods," he breathed, a phrase that seemed to be a remnant of times long ago when the most popular religion centered on the Olympians. He stared into her eyes, moisture gathering in the edges of his when his fiancée couldn't cry. His fiancée! He carefully slipped the ring onto her finger as a wondrous kiss captured their mouths, the box slipping away into a pocket or something. The angel pulled away from her for a moment, only to regard the woman in his arms, seeming to speak (as lovers do) without a word passing between them.
In a few moments of this, though, Chi couldn't take it anymore, and pulled her nearer to him again, only to spin them both around a single turn. He brushed a stray lock behind one of the vampiress' ears, their noses nearly touching. "Come here, with your wild heart," he breathed, and pulled her into another dizzying, passionate kiss. His hand moved to caress her cheek, his heart still fluttering through their empassioned embrace. He was so happy-- so happy he wasn't sure how to express it, except to have her closer. The angel felt the two bump into the side of the car, but his attention never left the woman in his arms, his betrothed. The thought of it thrilled him. Malachi's hands traced the line of that pretty dress that clothed her, his heartbeat still unable to steady itself. "I'm so glad-- so, so glad..." The ageless being didn't know how else to describe how elated he was. He felt, though, as if Ari knew, and understood, and he didn't really have to say anything.

Her beloved, her soon-to-be husband pulled her into his arms for several kisses that were so filled with passion, that Ari was overwhelmed by it all. She not only was feeling quite blissful with his proposal, excited for their long, long future together, but also dizzy with his sweet kisses. As always when his lips were on hers, Araceli felt that burning need to rip his clothing from him and ravage him. She pulled back from his embrace, expression positively serious--though she could hardly help the tugging at the corner of her mouth--and said, "Malachi, we shall return home and I shall ravage you and there is not a damn thing you can do about it."
And with a small nod, she took his face in her hands and placed upon his lips a kiss to rival all kisses, though pulled away soon after, leaving the angel quite decidedly dazed. She unwillingly left his embrace and walked around to the driver's side of the car, not willing to be patient with Chi's impossible driving at the moment and slid into the driver's seat. Her angel moved with jerky motions that made her grin with pleasure and she tugged the seat up to accommodate her height, quickly tapping the car's touch-start. The pretty vehicle roared to life under her grasp and she only waited a few moments for her beloved to make himself comfortable before she swung the car into reverse and backed up with a practiced skill and then--shifting gears like it was nothing--shot forward and back unto the street, the car's heavily armed frame still sleek as a jungle cat.
It was hardly three minutes before they were pulling into the parking garage, for Araceli had driven with all the speed and skill of a race-car driver, her inevitable desire for her now betrothed angel urging her forward with great urgency. She parked the car and tapped it off, grabbing her small black clutch from the middle console and stepping out of the car gracefully. Taking the angel's hand in her own after having fished out her keys, they entered her apartment a few moments later and Ari threw down everything she was holding, moving like a flash to embrace the angel once more. Her lips were hard-pressed to find his, and it wasn't long before she found herself pushing her lover down onto the bed. Her fangs were naturally extended, as they were wont to do when she was aroused, and she climbed atop her darling's well built form, her dress sliding provocatively up her thigh.
Her heart was filled with such joy and the angel was flooding her senses. She felt as though she was about to go into sensory overload with all the emotions that were filling her, coupled with the angel's delectable smell and the beauty of his visage. She dipped her head so that it was parallel with his, her lips lavishing him with kisses filled with passion. She ran her lips along the side of his neck, and for the slightest of moments, the predator inside her released a feral snarl and her jaw widened, gleaming fangs extended, to clamp down on the angel's neck.
Though, in the next split second, she regained her senses and was across the room in a flash, an utterly shocked look marring her pretty features. Her brain had been so clouded with emotions, the predator had slipped through the cracks and she had very nearly taken a bite out of her angel. Her hand rose up to her mouth, and she was quite disgusted with herself. She would never, ever blood-let from the angel; the act was something--though quite sensual--she associated with the monster inside of her that she fought daily to keep under control. She slumped against the wall, and felt the severe urge to kick herself, so embarrassed that she had let herself lose control over the beast for even a moment.

Chi grinned at her lethally serious comment, far too much joy in that transparent man to take the smile off his face now. "Oh, dearheart, as if I could want to resist." He laughed, a heady, excited sound, as she nodded and they became tangled in one of the more earth-shaking kisses that little Malachi had ever experienced. She peeled away from him and he staggered for a moment at the loss, wings fluttering him to wakefulness again and back to the car-- the passenger seat, this time. He was too shaken and giddy and all sorts of emotions he didn't have names for to drive, and it was just as well that the vampiress had taken the wheel as he was quite sure he wanted to spend the least amount of time possible with the woman outside the circle of his arms.
The large angel stuffed himself into the car seat and shut the door before fiddling with the seat adjuster, although he didn't get it back far enough to be comfortable before Ari had them going at a speed that made him incredibly nervous. He could feel her thrill and desire, and even as he clung to the car door he bit his tongue. The sensation of desire, coming from anyone else, was off-putting and awkward, but from Araceli it was infectious. Luckily, Malachi was only held in the distinct agony of the car ride for a few brief minutes, because despite her apparent attempt to kill them both, they had survived and made it home in record time.
Chi needed to speak to the chief of police about the lack of traffic cops in Noctum.
But there was hardly time or reason to think on these things. Even before the door had closed behind them, Malachi had his darling fiancee in his arms, their lips locked, his wings shuddering and fluttering behind him at every touch. Her little gasps and moans only fed that fire alive in him, that passion for her. His hands wandered as they fumbled towards the bedroom, both elated and absolutely fixed on a single goal.
The angel let her push him, with slight pressure, back onto the bed, his jacket now gone and a few of the buttons of his shirt undone. He pulled her hips towards him, though, as she sidled atop him, the man's hands helping the back of her dress ride up even ass she spoiled him with the finest kisses. As he felt the delicate trail her lips left on his neck, a little noise of pleasure escaped him-- and then he heard that snarl. It was not a lover's snarl, playful and sensual, but certainly dangeous, and there was hardly time to process that the sound had come from Araceli until she was halfway across the room.
She looked utterly shocked-- Chi was confused. There was a slight sting at his neck, which he put a hand to. When he drew back the hand, he saw what was the matter. She'd pricked him with a fang. His expression changed from smokingly sensual to concerned and loving in a matter of seconds. Her hand was on her mouth-- he moved off the bed and came to a sprawling sit behind her, finding that walking was still something of a challege thanks to their...activities of but a moment before. One of the angel's arms circled around her shoulders, pulling her close so that the kind man could kiss the top of her head with all the tenderness of heaven.
"Ari, Ari, it's alright. Don't worry yourself, love, it's alright."
He ran a hand through her hair. "Whatever happens, it'll be alright. You got a little excited, it doesn't matter. You have control." He sighed, pulling her onto his lap so he could bury his face in her sweet-smelling hair. After a deep inhale, he softly asked, "Would it make it better, if you just...took what you needed? You know you won't harm me. I...I don't mind."

Araceli was disgusted, sickened, repulsed by herself. Her conflicting emotions were driving her mad, and consternation did not even begin to cover it. She slumped back against the wall, her head in her small white hands and wanted to cry for ruining their evening. Of course she thirsted for the angel's blood, he smelled insanely delectable, after all. But she had thought she had the strength to resist that temptation, to keep that demon from rearing its ugly head. Perhaps she wasn't strong after all, maybe she was just as weak as some newborn fledgling. She shook her head to rid herself of the thoughts, taking a few deep, calming breaths to steady herself.
When Chi wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into his lap, things got better. And worse. Better because the angel's closeness was always a welcome gift, and because the man simply radiated kindness and mercy. He made her feel like she didn't have to be ashamed of what she was, that she could be proud and strong and fierce. But, it got worse then as well. Because his cradling had caused her nose to nearly be buried in his sweet smelling neck, and it was all she could do to keep her mouth clamped shut as her fangs made a completely unwanted reappearance. Her mind wandered, her nose still inhaling the sweet scent that was her betrothed and her deft fingers idly played with the gorgeous ring that adorned her finger, her engagement ring from the man she loved so fully, so ardently.
She listened to his softly whispered words of comfort, her mind easing ever so slightly until his darkly velveted voice ran over those last couple words. "I... I don't mind." In an instant, she became a statue. Her body tensed so suddenly, it probably felt to Chi like he had a large stone in his arms. She pulled back slightly, a little knot forming in between her brows, and stared at her loves beautiful blue-gray eyes; the color reflected that of a coming storm and, Ari was no empath, but she could swear that the angel was being serious. He was willingly giving her his neck, and to a Vampire--especially one as old as she--that was almost irresistible. She wanted to run, to flee, to get as far away from this temptation as she possibly could. Because this wasn't just anyone giving her their neck, this was Chi and that fact alone made the offer even more infinitely impossible to refuse. Her mouth opened slightly, and her fangs rested on the supple flesh of her pale bottom lip. She was at war with herself, wanting desperately to give in, to sink her fangs deep into his tender flesh and drink from him. He was giving it to her, after all. He didn't mind. She shook her head and moved against Chi, straightening herself so that she was straddling his lap like a woman instead of sitting upon it like a child. Her cold hands encased the angel's face and she kissed him softly--a tender sort of embrace that marked a deeper longing. A longing that Chi had probably never experienced, even in his ridiculously long life.
For she was a creature of temptation, in so many ways. She was tempted by something so dark and terrible, by the pleasures of the flesh, and it had often times driven her to the edge of madness. But she had always prevailed; always come out on top with not a scar on her record. Though now, with Chi's willing neck in front of her, she knew she was going to give in. She wouldn't be able to stop herself, wouldn't be able to refuse this offer. And so, after placing another soft kiss on his lips, she tilted his head to the side, dipped her own head down and kissed the soft flesh above his jugular, inhaling deeply to appreciate his delicious bouquet like one would do to a fine wine. Softly, she said, "I love you, Chi," her voice barely a whisper, and then her jaw widened and the tip of her fang broke through the skin of the angel's neck and his warm blood flowed into her mouth.
To say that his blood was her own kind of ecstasy would have been the understatement of a lifetime. His blood, the life that was flowing through his veins was nothing she had ever tasted. It was like fire going into her throat, but it didn't burn, it only seemed to satisfy her thirst like nothing ever had. It was as if his blood were burning away the insatiable hunger altogether.
She only took three or four pulls from the angel's neck before she released him, her tongue flicking over the wound to lap up the last remaining drops of blood and to heal the wound she had inflicted. Her mouth was stained red, her lips still shone with the ruby icor she had taken. She ran her tongue along the edges of her lips to pick up any blood she had missed, not wanting to waste a drop and she pulled back to look at the angel. Her greenish-golden eyes were on fire, burning and smoldering with a passion for him, a deep-seated need for him, but she could only look into his timeless eyes and stare in wonder.
What have I done?

There were many, many things that Malachi could understand, but bloodlust was not one of them. He felt his lover freeze in his arms after he spoke, pulling back to look him in the eye. The angel's gaze was concerned, tender and full of a loving respect for the remarkable gold-flecked eyes that stared back at him. She was searching for something within him-- it reminded him of their first night together, just after that first thrilling kiss, when she'd pulled back from him to search out some mystery or other in his beautiful face. No, he could certainly not understand the hungry that plagued his beloved, he could only make out how conflicted she was.
Malachi knew that she needed blood, and he knew that she found the smell of his blood in particular rather maddening. But what was the harm in just letting her have it? He replenished it near-instantly, after all, she could neither kill or turn him. The angel didn't mind giving himself to her-- he trusted her, and knew besides that what would be an odd pinprick to him was an ecstasy to her. How could the angel not want to give such a thing to her? He felt hesitancy and fear in her, but he coudn't figure out why. She'd been drinking blood for 400 years, and much of it synthetic. A live person's blood must be a nice change, right?
She changed her posture, head shaking, which Chi thought was a sure sign that she'd turned down his offer. He gave her a long, silent, studious look, as though he was trying to figure out what it was that had her so upset. Her hands cupped his face in that familiar way, their lips meeting in a kiss that he felt might have his soul pulled from his mortal body like smoke through a sieve. There was something there that he wasn't sure he'd ever felt before, and it set the angel afire, a cool sweat overcoming him-- when her lips left his, there was only an entranced wonder on his face. He felt his heart beat on the outside of his chest.
That mouth opened to ask a question, but he didn't know what to ask, and he was quite sure it would come out in unintelligible angelic mumblings anyway. Another kiss closed his mouth, and then, to his surprise, she moved his head to the side; he felt it all with a strange, detached hypersensitivity, the way her lips echoed their sentiment into the smooth skin of his neck, the deep inhale of an overwhelming thirst.
"I love you, Chi."
He gasped slightly as her fangs pierced him, his world dizzying around him as she took her first pull, the very singular experience of having one's blood drunk mingling with the fact that Chi had sunk far enough into his empathic ability via her drinking his lifeforce as to be feeling most of what Ari felt directly. His hands grasped at the carpet beneath him, mouth gulping for air, regal eyes wide and shocked at what she drew from him. He did not know of anything to which the sensation could be compared, except perhaps an orgasm, which seemed almost pale in comparison. This lasted for only a few seconds-- Malachi did not think he could take much more-- before she pulled away from him, her tongue like a cool salve on his neck, sealing that strange fire within him again. He, too, could only stare into his lover's eyes for several moments, the both of them shocked at what they had unleashed and itching to have it again.
Malachi tried very diligently to calm the tremble in his hands as his deep eyes sank into Ari's, that same Donne poem ringing through his mind as when he'd first had her. It was one of those hands that moved first, to encircle hers. His other hand went to her delicate face, the angel still unwound with a feeling of endlessness, irreality. He moved slowly, eyes heavy, fully taken with a fire that burned at the pit of his stomach for her, and pulled their faces together for a lusty kiss. He almost didn't feel like himself, but like a shade of himself, which he knew to be the effect of bloodloss. He knew, too, that for the time being, all Malachi wanted was his Araceli.

Araceli was beyond words. There were no words in any language on Earth to describe her feelings. She was so very, very satiated, but at the same time, she wanted more, so very much more. The experience that the two had just shared was like nothing she'd ever felt, it was most definitely ranked alongside the first time they had made love. He had brought his hand up to her own face, their positions somewhat switched as it was normally her fingers upon his face. His other hand was wrapped tightly around one of hers, and her dress had ridden up to the point where her delicate black panties were clearly visible. He brought her face to his for a kiss filled with passion, one that made her squirm against him. Her deft hands made quick work of the buttons on his white shirt, pushing it off his shoulders and tossing it to the side. Her hands roved his well built chest, her mouth quite longingly glued to his. His blood was flowing wildly through her veins, making her stronger and more alive than ever, for it was the strongest blood she had ever tasted.
Her fingers raked through his luscious mane of hair and she softly pushed him down so that his back was against the carpet. She wasn't even going to bother trying to get back on the bed, she wanted Malachi, and she wanted him as soon as physically possible. She was straddling his waist, and his manhood was pressed deliciously against her core. Her hands found the zipper of her dress and she took it by the hem and pulled it over her head, her toned, beautifully pale body shimmering in the darkened room. She paused for a moment, though, to brush her hand along Chi's face, his ever-beautiful eyes fixated on only her. She leaned down, palms face-down on the carpet on either side of his head and placed a few soft kisses on his forehead, his cheeks, even his nose, until finally, her mouth graced his for a lovely kiss, one that was filled with longing, but at the same time, was gentle and tender.
She felt as though, after having taken as much from him as she had, she should be gentle with him, and give back all she could. But he had everything she was, her heart, her soul--something she wasn't convinced she had retained, but Malachi was sure of--and all of her love. She wished never to be parted from the man, for her was her rock. The soft place in which she knew she could always fall. Malachi was the only man she ever wanted to touch her again, to look at her the way he was looking at her right now. She knew she was loved, and would be for the rest of eternity. Her lips once more pressed to his and she slid down to kiss his neck, her fangs softly grazed the tender skin that she had moments ago fed from and her mind was racing, racing with thoughts of her desire for him, of her need and passion.

He didn't feel like he could take his hand from hers-- not yet, not while his consciousness still tumbled unfettered through the world of men. He needed her there with him. He could think of nothing else but her. It was an incredible feeling, coming down from that high they'd just had, and it left their desire for each other at an all time high. The sight of her panties as her dress rode up made one of Chi's brows quirk up playfully, an absolutely delicious expression on the man. Again, she brought out in him that sly grin that was so rare to see outside of her company. His hands slid up along her thighs as she worried with his buttons, needfully caressing her perfect figure, pushing her dress farther up onto her back so that he could toy with her pantyline, his lips still engaged in a kiss that made him want to jump atop her right then and there.
But Ari seemed determined to go deliciously slow, drawing out their passion and making it burn all the more brightly by holding back. Chi let her push him back onto the carpet, glad that the stuff was at least a little soft. Her hands through his hair, coupled with her pressure on his maddeningly hard manhood, had a low groan of pleasure from his beautiful lips and a slight twitch in the placement of his hips. His own hands, at that point engaged in trying to bother her as much as possible with one very delicate finger very lightly teasing the places he knew would make her moan and squirm, now followed the dress up over that form he loved so much, eyes unable to avoid drinking in the sight of her exposed body. His expression was one of those that seemed to be Malachi's domain alone, his lips parted slightly, eyebrows raised, almost sad-looking except for those smouldering bedroom eyes of his. Those blue-greys returned to her eyes, however, as she brushed her hand with his face, a movement that made his breath catch in his throat. Her barrage of kisses, gentle and loving, were the sort of thing an angel could appreciate especially, his wings, splayed out on the ground beneath him, encircling around them both to softly brush the perfection of his lover's body, their touch cool and soft. When her lips reached his mouth he felt wonderfully undone, as though she had disarmed him completely, and all of him, his life, his thoughts, were bared and open to her.
And despite being an intrinsically secretive creature, he found the feeling wonderfully freeing. The vampire's attentions moved down him again, to brush the place where she'd just drunk from him, and the action sent a little thrill of pleasure down his spine, which had him squirming. His hands pushed those panties over her backside even as he picked her up, only to move to the bed and there lay her down. His pants were removed while he still stood, the angel letting them fall to the floor without a second thought, the magnitude of his desire now quite unmistakable. The angel moved to hold himself above his fiancee, pressing a kiss to her beautiful lips that was so passionate, so needful, that he could hardly hold himself back from thrusting into her, the act of it making the dear angel see stars.

Araceli's slight gasp at Malachi's teasing sent a wave of pleasure up her spine. His fingers were playing with the part of her that was more sensitive than any other, and, only using her front teeth, she bit down softly on the angel's bottom lip. He was so deliciously good at getting those naughty moans to fall from her mouth and she had the sneaking suspicious that he was well aware of that little fact. His eyes were on fire for her, and it made her need for him triple in urgency. She was nearly breathless when she felt his soft wings flutter against her cold, naked skin, and the soft brush of feathers made a luscious shudder run down her spine. Her lips were pressed tight against his, and she could hardly stand the brush of fabric that was standing in their way. She was almost relieved with Chi picked her up, removed her panties from her, and then set her gently on the bed. While he was taking his pants off, she removed the black lacy bra, her breasts now free from their previous constraint. As she looked upon the man in all his glory, she realized that she would never, ever tire of seeing his body exposed to her. He was beautiful and strong and hard in all the right places; he was perfect and she would have him in her bed for an eternity. Suffice it to say, blissful just didn't cover it.
When he crawled atop her, she was at a loss for words; hell, she was at a loss for thought. She laid back against the pillows, her hair now loosened from the clips she'd had in earlier, and her hands gripped Chi's wrists. She wasn't quite prepared for the rush of his manhood inside of her, and so it took her breath away completely in the form of a moan. Her hips raised to accommodate the angel's entrance and her hands gripped his shoulder as her slender body absorbed each one of his delicious thrusts, soft moans of excruciating pleasure falling from her lips each time he slid out and then reentered her with gusto. Her head tilted back and her spine arched so that her breasts were pressed quite wonderfully against his chest, and they bounced up and down with each thrust of the angel's manhood. Her legs wound them selves strategically around his, her hands placed just in the right position so that when she flipped them over, his throbbing member never left her core.
She was on top now, her legs splayed so that she was straddling him quite deliciously, and her hips rotated against him, causing shivers of pleasure to run through her. Her head dipped so that her lips were on his, her mane of hair flowed lusciously down her back and around her shoulders, and she ran a delicate hand down the length of her body, her smoky hazel eyes shut tight, her lips parted and moaning. The movement of her hips increased in speed and her head tilted back, her mouth now wide, chest heaving. Her back arched upwards, the crest of her spine pointing to the ceiling and she had both of her hands, palm down, on either side of the angel. The steady flow of her hips was intoxicating and the feel of her angel deep inside of her was enough to drive her insane. She could feel herself close to coming undone, perched on the edge of the climax, but still with so far to go before she made that spiraling leap down.
When it was time, when she could feel that delicious pressure build inside her to the point of explosion, her head dipped down, fangs fully extended, and she bit down on Chi's neck, in almost the exact same spot in which she had drawn blood from before. And it was with his blood flowing into her mouth that she came, and wildly so. Her fangs released the tender flesh of his neck, and she threw her head back in thoughtless abandon, small trickles of the angel's ruby blood flowing down her lips, down her chin, and in between her breasts. She had let out a cry so filled with pleasure, there was no doubt that all of her surrounding neighbors had heard it. But she found no shame in that fact, only a mildly voyeuristic sense of pleasure as the throbbing movements of her hips came to a slow halt. She bent once more to flit her tongue across his neck to lap up the remaining blood and seal that second wound that she had left.
