Li walked through the streets, his look not seeming very happy. His "companion" behind him, otherwise, looked severely panicked. Which was understandable. Two rather pretty, easy-to-pick-off looking people walking the streets at night would cause a fear in them; or at least one.
"R-really, don't you think we should stay in an apartment?" Ril asked, ringing his pale-white hands nervously as the street lamps appeared to be dimming. Li only rolled his eyes and gave his duplicate a hard glare.
"Shut up, will you? You have been going on about how 'unsafe' this is for nearly an hour. We need to find someone to feed off of. Do you realize how long it has been?"
Ril shook his head, which caused the other blonde to sigh. "Figures, I'm the one stuck with the brains."
"H-hey! I'm not stupid," Ril bit back, fighting tears.
"Of course not, you just rule yourself by your pathetic emotions," Li replied sardonically with a wave of his hand. "What do you possibly think could happen to us, anyway? We're bloody vampires."
"Well...I..." Ril trailed off and darted his eyes around, still nervous as they had seemed to stop walking when Li turned around to snap at him. "What if someone tried to capture us...and make us slaves?"
Li gave him a flat look, placing a hand on his hip. "Are you serious?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. Ril only nodded feebly. "That's what you think? That's what you really think?"
Ril only kept nodding his head, still fighting tears from his seemingly crueler other self. Li only laughed and shook his head, placing his other hand over his face- his other still on his hip. "Wow, you really are pathetic."
Ril only forced himself to glare at Li, which faltered when the said other turned back around to keep walking. "Just shut up and keep up with me, all right? Can't have either one of us die from thirst."
Ril wanted to disobey him, to stay put; but he was too afraid to be by himself. He quickly caught up with Li, still ringing his hands nervously and shivered from the hidden terrors of the night he was sure would steal them away.

The shadow of what looked like a Neko could be seen, making no noise, and revealing no true form, just a shadow, like the whisper of wind, smoke in the air. This was the life Cero led, living in the streets, preferably alone. There was nobody he had to worry about but himself.
Besides the fact that he as mute, the half-human, half0shapeshifter was pretty smart, and could get by easily, though the times now were rough ones. He liked to spend time in his half-and-half form, resulting in raccoon ears and tail, thus sometimes getting mistaken for a Neko; deadly consequences, now, with the disappearences of so many. He slipped along the street, two voices ringing out from up ahead. Interest perked, Cero watched them, for they were not too far up. His black eyes held sparks of curiousity, and he wondered if it would be possible for him to pickpocket - Oh no. Damn vampires.
He also had the ability to sense what other beings were, nailing them down to almost a 'T,' perfection, really. But this was pretty bad. He basically had no where to run, and Cero inwardly cursed himself. Why had he not paid attention like usual at night? This was pretty bad for the mute, but he figured it wouldn't be bad if they wouldn't hurt him, right? Perhaps this wouyld be easy. . . in his pocket, there were weapons, though not necessarily for vampires; effective, but not fatal, if there was any trouble.
Hesitantly, he began heading toward the two, their paleness even more apparent due to the flickering street lights. Two on one, Cero approached them cautiously, hoping that he would make allies rather than enemies.

Ril was a lot more paranoid than Li, and as soon as he suspected movement behind them, he quickly turned around. His eyes were wide, instantly taking in the image of what he believed was a neko - but why was he coming towards them?
"Uhg, what now?" Li asked, having found no sound of Ril's footsteps behind him. He turned around, expecting to see Ril freaking out over some animal, but instead he saw Cero. Eyes narrowed, he stepped to Ril's side and crossed his arms. "Who the hell are you?"
"Li-" Ril hissed back, trying to stop him from causing any problems.
Li only gave his other another hard glare before turning his attention to the hybrid, fangs shown in a not so friendly smile. "You smell a bit like a human, but you don't appear to be." He brushed his light, nearly bleach-blonde hair out of his face as he spoke; dark eyes narrow and studying the boy intently.
Ril still looked nervous, and appeared ready to drag Li away before anything bad happened - which he knew it would.

The fangs were a dead giveaway, proving to himself that the sense was right - not like it had ever let him down before. Cero recoiled slightly, taking in the two's appearances quickly. The blonde was upfront about things, very agressive; the other one, not so much. That was good. If he could just play on their sympathies, perhaps some advantages would be shown; if not, then he knew those two for later, then.
His one hand went up to give a light tug on his raccoon's ear, before it dropped. Cero wondered how they would take to him shifting . . not well, more than likely. His arms crossed as well, though in a more aid back fashion, raher than agressive. His eyes flickered to the one next to the blonde. A hand brought out a notebook and pen, finding it easily within the folds of his loose-fitting clothes. It seemed this would be the best method, for now.
'Human father, shapeshifter mother,' he wrote quickly and neatly, handing it to the kinder but timid looking one. 'Name's Cero Schiffer.'

ooc; they're both blonde by the way; "Twins" to be precise...and they're hermaphrodites. Heh, info is on "their" profile.

Li raised an eyebrow and glanced at Ril, wondering if he would take the piece of paper. Ril felt his eyes on him and went rigid for a moment before taking the scribbled on parchment. He read it carefully and blinked, showing it to Li. "He's not a neko."
"I knew as much," Li said flatly, not surprised at all. "He smells mostly human."
Ril looked confused by his response until it clicked. His eyes widened at the recognition and he quickly shook his head. "No." when he only got a look from Li, he continued more firmly. "No." Li's lips crept into a more sly smile at Ril's attempt to change his mind. "We can't. That's not right!"
"It's either that, or spend the rest of the night searching and searching until we lose our strength," Li said nonchalantly. "The both of us can take this kid," he said quietly, though he figured Cero could hear him just fine either way. "We won't have to kill him, if that's what you're so worked up about."
"Li-" Ril began to protest again until the other blonde raised his hand for a moment and watched his other recoil.
"Do not argue with me, Ril," he hissed darkly. "Don't forget that I am the real me. You are just a copy."

ooc :: thanks, i wasn't sure . . it got confusing fer me . . i appreciate the help, Sherli <33
ic ::
His eyes narrowed slightly. Poor Ril, Li seemed to be slightly abusive of his copy . . Wait a minute. Something wasn't right there, but Cero was too tired to actually figure it out, or ask for a story. He concentrated on the words he heard moments before. Well, no slave trade, at least. This hybrid had no intentions of that, and, truth be told, he would rather die.
A hand crept closer to the folds of his clothes, where his weapons were. It would be interesting if it came to a fight, to say the least. He took half a stpe back ward, slightly defensive. Cero hadn't ever had his blood taken . . what would that be like? Painful, more than likely, but he was really a masochist, so he wasn't all for that idea. His other hand flicked out to get the notebook back, writing something else before giving it to Li. 'And if I refuse?'

Ril had gone quiet after Li's words, staring down at the ground while he wrapped his arms around himself half way. He looked cold; or at least that was his excuse. Li sighed and shook his head, turning his gaze back at Cero when the paper was handed to him. The vampire took it with little interest. When he read it, he chuckled.
"Hmm, yes, indeed. What if you refuse?" he asked with a tilt of his head, appearing in thought. "Doesn't matter to me whether you refuse or not. You're going to lose, either way. Just one will be less painful. You're choice."
Ril looked up, concern and fear of what Li was going to do, washing out his already pale complexion to the point of near-ghost-like. "Just leave him alone, Li...we can always find some stray animal."
Li gave him a quick, harsh look. "Do you really think just an animal will keep us going much longer? You already feel it, don't you? The fatigue creeping in? We need this, now."

The harpy eagle flew down the streets, wings moving every so often to keep her up. She was a large bird, beautiful too. She was silent as she came around the people below. It was dark out but she could see perfectly. She studied the people below her, a group of three, though two of them looked somewhat alike. The other looked like a Neko, but the scents coming to her nose told her otherwise. This "Neko" didn't have the smell of a cat on him. The two others were vampires. She could hear the two talking, but the third she couldn't hear at all. His lips didn't move either. She landed on a light post nearby, watching the scene. The two boys, apparently Li and Ril, were talking about something and seemed to not be friends with the quiet one. She was curious as to why the boy wasn't talking, but she wasn't ready to make herself known yet.
It would have been easy for them to look over at her and see her on the light post. She was quiet, though, cleaning her feathers and watching carefully. Such a large bird might not have been seen in such a place, usually, and she felt as thought she didn't belong in this form. It was better than her reptile form, though, she couldn't imagine roaming the streets that way. As for the smaller creature, she didn't want to be hunted down by humans and used for a fur coat, which seemed to happen so often to chinchillas. She felt a bit of fear or...something coming from one of the boys. Ril, it seemed. Anari didn't want to see a fight between the three, two on one didn't seem to be fair. But she didn't plan on helping the one boy who was alone. Anari didn't like fighting and a few people knew this. But she also didn't like to see an unfair fight.
If anything, the little neko could probably take care of himself, but Li seemed to be the more aggressive of the two, and perhaps the leader. She wondered if he could convince Ril to attack Cero as well. She spread her wings a bit, moving them a bit and a small noise came from her beak. She was showing them that she was there and hoping that they wouldn't do anything stupid if the boy had someone there with him. It wouldn't have been a good idea to mess with a harpy eagle anyway, her talons were proof of that. If they decided to get violent anyway, Anari would try to talk them out of it. She was good at that, after all, getting herself and others out of situations like that.

Another presence seemed to have flown in. Cero turned slightly, his body taking in the eagle's form. Another shapeshifter. At least there was someone on his side. He smirked a bit at the cry from her beak, its figure feminine, easily distinguished.
He removed the notebook from Li's hand, giving him a glare. This one was annoying, yet seemed to be so sure of himself. 'I don't do pain, and I don't play the role of prey, either. Go find another piece of meat, bloodsucker.' This was addressed only to Li, for Ril was the quiet one, seeming to have a bit more of a conscious than Li. Cero's body language was easy to readd. It said that he was ready to fight, if need be, and that there was no way he would be this one's food. But then again, he smirked. Another stray animal? How would they react to his other form, then?

"Let's just leave him alone," Ril continued faintly, gently tugging at Li's sleeve. "please," he begged. Li brushed him off, narrowing his eyes into menacing slits which caused Ril to back away from him.
"I'm not going to take an insult from some half-breed that can't even speak," he said darkly, glancing up towards the large bird he had heard made its presence known. "Looks like the brat has a friend."
Ril began to shake visibly, although he did his best to control it. Li would only be angry if he let himself show weakness and fear - but he knew things were going to get worse if they continued this. Li had been right, though - Ril could begin to feel the lack of new blood weakening his system. It was beginning to pain him to stand up; his vision blurrying.
Li didn't seemed to be as weakened yet, possibly because he was the original, making Ril the frail copy. Li turned his attention from the harpy eagle towards his other and spotted the signs. "Ril, we can't wait any longer," he said, less hostile this time, more concerned.

Anari stayed where she was, hoping Cero knew she was a friend and not a foe. She didn't want to make enemies here and would try and keep things calm between them. Cero seemed ready to fight and that put Anari on edge. If this little Neko like person was up for fighting them, she couldn't stop him. But she was sure that he would lose against two vampires. She couldn't speak in her animal form, but if she could she would have asked them to leave him alone. The two vampires could find humans all over the city. She shifted a bit, not yet moving from her post. She wanted to see how this would go. She heard them say the other boy didn't speak. they also called him a half-breed, and she had suspected him of being a shapeshifter but didn't understand his ears. Now she thought she understood. Half shapeshifter. The smell on him was raccoon, actually, and she figured if the boy shifted she could carry him off easily.
Li was right, though, the boy did have...well, not a friend, but an ally. Her eyes peered straight at Li threateningly. The two seemed a little odd, though she didn't know what it was that made them that way. Being a female, her eagle form was quite a bit larger than male eagles. Her wing span was a good six feet and she weighed about eighteen pounds. She was a large bird, and obviously not something a human would want to mess with. She lifted into the air, circling above them for a moment before landing on a light post that was closer. Now she could see them better, not that she had any problems before. Her eyes were perfect in this form and if she concentrated, she could use them in her human form as well.

Eating a meal of a group of three guard vampires, the blood gushed on his face, he delighted on the death of his natural enemy. He reverts back into his human form. "I have got to buy looser cloths so I'm not walking around naked anymore. I'm sick of getting damn tickets, for public nudity." He rolled his shoulders a few times to relax himself a bit and wiped the blood from his lips. The the smell of more vampires entered his nose. 'I am actually kind of full.' He thought to himself.
Then an idea enter his mind. 'I need more money for my little kitten to eat. I'll sell the bastards off.' He thought to himself, reverting back to his Lycan form. He ran towards the scent seeing Anari and a boy whom, the vampire was trying to feed on. 'Great....I guess I could help them out.' Not knowing what was really happening, he kind of just went with his gut.
He inhaled a bit, before a huge roar echoed the entire area. He charged in jumping over Anari. His white fur somewhat lit the area with his lightness, maybe the new shampoo. His right paw with the razor sharp claws reached for the vampires neck, but not for a kill. His left aiming for a slash on it's ribs.

Li flinched when he heard the roar of an all to familiar foe. Lycan. He turned around quickly, eyes widened in shock when he saw how close the giant beast was to him. He didn't have any time to react. Ril shouted in alarm, trying to run towards him to push him out of the way- too late.
Li made contact with the monstrous wolf, taking the blow as he began to fall to the ground. His eyes were still widened in shock, mouth open as he had wanted to say something before he was charged at.
Ril staggered back, his expression that of pure terror. Was Li dead? Was the lycan going to eat his other? Eat him too after the beast was done with Li? All he could do was hold his head and scream, "STOP IT!" at the top of his lungs; eyes shut tightly - he couldn't watch. Couldn't bare it. The smell of blood was already causing his already light head to spin.

Another look at the harpy eagle, though this time it held a small, visible smile with it. And then, the smile turned into a frown, gaze transforming into a glare as he looked at Li, anger avident. Cero was taken aback by the surprise attack of the Lycan, and he staggered back a couple of feet, watching with mild curiousity, slight fear. It unnerved him to see something so large, so close, so dangerous. Though he was well-aquainted with danger, this one still managed a shudder out of him.
He hand went out to grab Ril, the more docile of the pair of twins, always seeming to at least have some sort of a conscience.

She could smell the lycan before she could see him. As soon as he jumped over her, she spread her wings and made a somewhat threatening noise, as if saying Cero wasn't allowed to be attacked. 'Good, now he can protect us,' she thought, always looking for someone to do the protecting. She knew this lycan to be Hiro, a man she had met before. She watched the lycan attack Li and she took flight, moving quickly toward Cero. Her talons grabbed his shirt and released quickly, making sure not to touch his skin. She moved further up into the sky, hoping he would move away with her.
Instead, Cero grabbed for Ril, the one that seemed to be the nicer of the two. 'Why?' she wondered. She made a noise, letting them know she was worried about staying around there. She didn't want Cero, or Ril now, to be caught up in this. She had not wanted anyone to get harmed here and her eyes on Hiro said it all. He seemed more dangerous than the vampire before her. But now the twins were outnumbered. She couldn't help but feel bad for the small boy Hiro was on. This was too unfair.
