Sarah Anders Sarah, in a very feline fashion, slinked up to a garbage can outside the apartments. Her ears were dancing in every which way, as she adopted the tiger's ears. Listening carefully, Sarah posed half way in the garbage can. Fishing this way and that. Looking for her next meal. Pulling up a half eaten sandwich, Sarah sat back on her haunches, wolfing back the sandwich as fast as she could.
Listening, Sarah froze, the last bite of the sandwich halfway to her mouth. Glancing around, Sarah watched the surroundings. Not noting anyone, Sarah morphed her eyes to that of the tabby cat. Hoping that better eyes would reveal better answers. But nothing once again. Not giving away to a sigh, Sarah threw in the last piece of the sandwich in her mouth. Licking her fingers clean, Sara kept her ears always shifting, while she continued to clean herself.
Shifting into a tabby, Sarah headed over to the fire escape ladder on the side of the apartment. Continuing to clean herself, Sarah froze. Shifting into her tiger form, Sarah gave a low hiss, her intent quite clear. Coiling up, preparing for attack. Her fur stood on end, as another hiss erupted from her body. She almost wanted to shouted at the being to leave her along, to go away, to find their own garbage can to eat form.

"What a drag... probably should've moved on to the next city..."
Rufiel had his hands in his pockets, walking aimlessly through the streets. His efforts had been fruitless thus far, and for the most part things had been relatively quiet. His hunt for information had turned up fruitless so far and at the moment there were no leads as to where he could find any vampires for interrogation. Annoyed with the hopelessness of his situation, Rufiel kicked a nearby empty can of soda with enough force to send it flying far down the sidewalk ahead of him. The city he was in was large, and up until now he had failed to even figure out what the name of the city was. There was something odd about the scents he picked up here and he knew for a fact that there was some type of activity... but for the life of him he couldn't understand why there wasn't any sign of them he could find.
His walking came to an abrupt halt when his nose picked up something peculiar. This scent was completely new to him, a scent he had never picked up before in his life. It was odd... the scent was that of a cat and that of a human. The first thought that popped into his mind was that it was just a cat owner... personally he couldn't stand cats... but then he sniffed just once more before his eyes popped wide open. He couldn't seperate the two scents, meaning that either there was a cat giving of humanlike scents, or a human was actually exhuding catlike musk. Whatever it was, maybe this was the activity he was seeking all along. Vampire or not, maybe another night walker knew where to find them. His steady walking pace turned into a running sprint as he sped off, determined to catch the creature before it disappeared, placing him right back to square one.
His race ended at the beginning of an alley. Unfortunately for him, his lycan blood had worked against him... his eyesight in the darkness wasn't nearly as good as it should be, but his sharp hearing and even sharper sense of smell easily made up for it. The aroma of trash wafted across his nose, causing him to twist his face in disgust. "Sometimes I wonder why I frickin bother..." he grumbled as he stepped further into the dark alley. It was there that his eyes fell upon a creature in the night. It was large, a tiger-like creature bulging with muscles that more than likely could snap him in two in his current state. He stopped suddenly, placing both hands in his pockets in a cool and calculated manner. Inside however, he cursed himself inwardly for not finding a place further away to transform before investigating. His lycan form would have been more than a match for a stray tiger.
"Whoa... easy there, kitty cat" Rufiel said warily, making sure not to make any sudden movements. "Judging by your scent, you aren't a real tiger are you? Doesn't make much sense, why the hell would a tiger be in an alley?" His lips curled into as friendly a smile as he could muster, but he was just about as much on edge as the tiger creature probably was. "You can understand me, can't you...? I'm unarmed, I was just wondering what that peculiar scent you were giving off was" he continued, slowly raising both hands into the air as he spoke. "I assure you though, I'm far from normal myself. Let's not make this some kind of cat and dog scene... I'm too exhausted for that crap..."
He'd given in his two cents for now. If this tiger was really a feral beast, he'd have to either fight or flee. Something told him inwardly though... although hostile at the moment, this tiger wasn't his enemy. All he could do now is wait.

Lowering herself further, Sarah sniffed the air. His scent, it was of lycan. He was a dog. Grateful she found a species she got along with fairly well, Sarah slowly walked forward, the pads of her feet soft on the ground. Carefully, she slowly walked towards the stranger, her eyes always watching the man. He smelled like home. She missed home.
She stopped about three feet away from the strange man. She tilted her head in a very human-like fashion. A small meow left her lips, but Sarah was still cautions. Fear tainted the taste on her tongue. Sitting back on her haunches, Sarah quickly shifted from a humanoid shape back to a tiger. She watched the man. He wasn't part of the family that she lived with, or the one that saved her, but he was family.
She slowly got up, walking towards the man, slowly. She had the control, he admitted he had no weapons. She didn't enjoy this kind of control, but something about him, suggested he wasn't used to this lack of control. But that couldn't just be how tired he was, fatigue rolled off his body. Stopping just infront of the man, Sarah tilted her head again, gently licking the stranger's hand. For some reason, she felt safe around him. It had been a long time since she felt safe around anyone.

"Thank God..." Rufiel sighed as he slumped beside a trash can. It was a relief he didn't have to fight tonight, he'd been walking about all day and wasn't in any position to fight. It had been the first time all day since six o'clock that he had gotten off his feet. He'd been wandering aimlessly for a while... simply idling away his time until he caught on to any leads concerning vampires and where they mostly gathered. From most of his run-ins with them, he had learned that Vampires usually moved in large groups much like the Lycans did. If he could find one and subdue it, he could find them all. Right now he didn't give two-fifths of a crap about that... he just wanted to rest.
"Now that we've established that I'm not out to kill you, mind changing into a more conversation oriented form?"
He stared at her more amused now than tired. "Soooooo... what the hell are you supposed to be?" Rufiel asked, looking right into the eyes of the tiger. "You're no lycan, but from what I can tell you transform like we do... never met anyone that can do that." His hand warily reached out and stroked the tiger's forehead, giving it a friendly pat. "Th' name's Rufiel... back in high school they called me 'Ru'. You got a name or do I have to call you kitty cat from here on out?"
Rufiel shyly scratched the back of his head. He was no good with introductions, never saw any need for them. He was usually gone after a while, never stayed in the same place for too long. He had a feeling about this town however... his senses told him that there were many peculiar things to be found. As of right now... he had walked right into one of these peculiar things. Almost jokingly, he had asked under his breath half in exhaustion and half in sarcasm...
"...Hey...you wouldn't happen to know where I could find some vampires, huh?"

Sarah watched the man slump against her garbage can. While she felt a slight protectiveness of her food source, but Sarah felt that this man, this lycan, needed something from here. Hearing the man give his name, Sarah felt a strange companionship. While she enjoyed the feeling of being petted, she knew this man needed something. Something she might be able to give him.
Shifting into a more humanoid form, Sarah infront of the man infront of her. She was dressed in a shirt that was mostly rages, while her legs were covered in a pair of jeans that had long ago reduced to rags. Sitting as though she was a cat, she still had the yellow tiger eyes, and the tiger ears. She was very much a mix of a human and a cat.
"Sar..Sar..Saryah. [/b][/color]" Her voice seemed strange to her own ears, a it had to the man's. It made her feel ashamed of acting so much like a human. She didn't like being in this form, she didn't have the freedoms she liked. She didn't get the warmth her fur gave her. But it allowed communication. She seriously hoped she had not caused the man any fear, while she purred to let him know she was no different. Still a cat. Hearing his last comment under his breath, Sarah nodded. Shifting into a light grey tabby cat, Sarah padded out of the alleyway, watching Ru from behind her. Pausing, she watched him, tail flicking. She wanted him to follow but didn't know how to tell him. Hoping he would understand. Seeing him walk towards her, Sarah padded off towards the brightly light bar. Cyanide. She hated the stench, but it had what he looking for.[/blockquote]

Rufiel struggled to his feet as the cat-woman 'Saryah' morphed into a smaller alley cat. "Nifty...." Rufiel whistled as she ran off to the mouth of the alleyway. He waited a moment as she stopped, looking back to him and swishing her tail back and forth slowly. "Ya want me to follow ya, huh?" Rufiel said while walking in her direction. When he saw that Saryah was pointing her nose to a night club locate just across the street, he stopped and took his own turn in sniffing in that direction. Nothing notably out of place, a lot of sweat and a faint trace of blood... probably from a drunken fight breaking out or something. But she seemed so sure of it... could he have really overlooked it?
He leaned against the wall of the alley, arms folded as he rubbed his chin in thought. If there were Vampires in there, they were in their home court... and Rufiel was seriously outnumbered if he transformed and tore through the place. Chances are he wouldn't survive five minutes... they'd bleed him down and kill him without mercy, his blood was most likely poisonous to a vampire anyway. To be so close but so powerless... it made him angrier than he had ever been in his life. Without warning he slowly stuck his arm straight ahead of him and threw it backwards, slamming his fist into the wall. A crack spread to the far end of the wall, disappearing down into the darkness of the inner alley.
Slumping once again, he rubbed his hand and swore loudly. He glared with anger in the direction of the club as the neon sign that read 'CYANIDE' blinked back at him in return, as if mocking him. He was just too tired today... and worse still it had been only a few days since he had found this town, and he was homeless. He slowly reached into his pocket and pulled out a wallet. Within it was his mother and father's credit cards and a small sheet of paper with the pin number for both cards written down. He closed his eyes and remembered how he had ripped their room apart for anything that would be useful. Luckily enough, they had left their important documents in the nightstand next to their bed. It had everything he needed... he learned a valuable lesson, that surviving was the number one priority in his life.
"Need some rest..." He said weakly as he looked about. No motel around the area... looked like he was going to have to tough it out again. The night prior to this one he had slept on a park bench. It wasn't comfy, but it beat the dampness of the grass after morning dew. Now he had no place to sleep... unless he could find a shelter, one of those trash cans would have to be his home. It was then that it hit him. He looked behind him and found that he was in the alleyway beside an apartment building. Maybe there was an empty apartment he could make use of... and if there was a problem with that, he could easily use his late parents' fortune to pay for an apartment. He chuckled loudly having not figured it out sooner, smiling towards the cat.
"Well? You comin or not?" Rufiel asked as he stood to his feet and started walking around front. "I guess I could use someone who knows a thing or two about this town. Besides, I know you'd rather be indoors than eating garbage all day and night." Forcing open the apartment door with minimal effort, he held the door open with his foot. Maybe things would work out eventually... and thanks to the mysterious Saryah, he'd gotten an invaluable lead in his search. His spirit was replenished, and he had her to thank for it. He had to show her his appreciation and give her a place to live.
(OOC: Was wondering if I could gain an apartment or must some special condition be met? If so, I guess I'll crash in the apartment lobby XD)

[[You can request a residence for yourself, go to 'My Own Pen' and fill out the request form. And bam! Apartment.]]
Sarah watched the man lash out in frustration, it made her jump, but rankly, she was sure there wan't anything to be afraid of the man. She was slightly surprised with herself as she opened to this man so much, but also wonderd how he couldn't smell the filthy vampires. Disgusting creatures, feeding off others. Truly the leeches of the world.
Seeing him wander back towards the apartment, Sarah watche dthe man. Hearing him call after her, she ran after him, rubbing against him, trying to let him know it was okay. What was okay, she wasn't sure, but she felt okay with the man. Looking up at the man as he wrented open the apartment, Sarah paused a moment before leaping into the apartment. It was slightly dusty, but better than staying outside and and eating garbage. But she was run.
Wandering around the apartment, Sarah watched Ru. Decided that it was time to look around, Sarah ran to a wall and ran through it, without stopping. Appearing in the next room, Sarah looked around. She was very curious, had to see the rest of the apartment, phasing from room to room. It only took her a few moments, but she had seen the entire apartment and found her favourite spot.
Curling up on a chair that was left in the living room, Sarah curled up into a ball. Looking at Ru, Sarah tilted her head, watching him. She wondered if the man knew the once that rescued her, maybe, maybe not. He didn't smell of the town. Putting her mind to rest, Sarah yawned. Placing her head on her paws, Sarah watched Ru. A lycan. Been a while since she smelled one, even longer since she trusted one. Her brother.
