The City of Monolith, the only wonder remaining in an otherwise destroyed world. Technology has taken a step backwards, falling to a point where electricity is used to light your house, nothing more. TV’s, Radio’s and anything like them are gone. The only energy sources left are the core stones, each stored in a monolith within the City. These stones supply the remaining power to the rest of the city, but have had one rather destructive side effect.
It started out small, maybe a child couldn’t get burnt, maybe she ran a little faster than everyone else or something like that. Whatever was causing them, it wasn’t considered to be that big a problem.
Then they got more impressive. Children could summon, and control fire, water, ice, whatever. It was the start of something much bigger. The whole population of Monolith was giving birth to superpowered children. They could do anything.
Then it got bad. Some children thought that they could do anything, so thought that they could get what they wanted, while others opposed them. The city guard got involved, and Monolith became a dark place, shadows haunting everywhere, causing problems. The city returned to the state it had been in before, but this time it was different, this time they where there.
