This is it. This is the city that planted the ideals of enlightenment for the people that reside on American soil, metaphorically, as it sprouts and grows into the tree that introduces us to the Executive branch, Legislative branch, and the Judicial branch. This is the city that consists of the most active activists, the most conservative conservatives, the most liberal liberals, and those who are viewed as party-poopers that choose to be in the independent delegation. Scraping the sky at 555 feet, the Washington monument stands tall, proud, and alluring to the eyes of sight-seers that come to pay a visit to the nation’s capital. Not only is the monument a looker, but so are the beautiful landscapes and greenery seen along Pennsylvania avenue when passing by. This is something to be proud of when you have your gaze fixated on the White House, showing we do our best to impress, whether the president makes a good or bad decision. Although the American Revolution has passed, there’s still a revolution going on in the perspective of those who feel oppressed in this city. Social status is still something that’s considered a priority, which is why feuds between the high class and low class still fluctuate profoundly. From the political machines to the die-hard activists, and other bewildering personalities, the question is are you ready? Can you handle the heat of the melting pot? This is the District.
