"For the last ten years Excel has become a household name, as has Reid Lanart. Most see the company as one of the best things to happen to Johto, but others see that every light must cast a shadow. Recent events have increased the number of those to don't trust Excel. Within the last year the company has made a miracle potion called Excel Elixir. The potion makes a Pokemon stronger, heal faster, think quicker and allows them to generally perform at a rate that was not before seen as possible. Yet many customers have reported their Pokemon becoming extremely aggressive or even running away after a while.
Most of those that made these claims either withdrew them or simply disappeared before they could get much attention. Many people have accused Excel Corp. of silencing those that spoke out against them, but thus far no evidence has been found to prove this accusations. Never the less the company has decided to hold a series of tournaments to better their sullied name. Yet with the events coming up it seems that Excel employees have been acting strangely and some say even illegally, perhaps there is a less innocent motive behind the tournaments."
