As Araceli walked down the path, her preternatural senses scoured the area, looking for any sign of a human. Ari was thirsty and she needed to feed. Her hand gripped the hilt of her katana, pensively squeezing the silk wrappings from time to time. She was dressed in that of a normal human, a pair of tight, curve-hugging black jeans, a pair of black leather heeled boots with a rounded two and a white button up blouse, presently covered by a thigh-length black peacoat. Under her coat, however, she was strapped to the T in weaponry, twin 9mm pistols and three 12' hunting knives. Tucked into her boot was her very favorite dagger, the symbol of her Sanguinian nature, the Egyptian Ankh embedded on the hilt of the silver weapon. But her favorite weapon, the one she was by far the most deadly with, was corded to her waist. A beautifully wrought steel katana that had a coiled serpent tang and red silk wrapped hilt. That sword never left her person, it was her most prized possession on the Earth.
It was late, probably around 3 o' clock in the morning and she was running out of time. Finally, however, she happened upon a drunken bum, laying down on a bench. She blended herself into the shadows and read his mind, seeing that he was sedated with enough alcohol to keep him quiet for a while. She stalked up behind the bench, keeping herself in the shadows, until she was upon him. Her pearly white fangs extended and she pounced upon him, covering his mouth and biting into his throat with a grace only a practiced predator could exude. Even though she was skillful in the hunt, it didn't mean she liked it one bit. She didn't care for humans, not because of a heavy conscience hanging over her head, it was just that she didn't like humans, period. They annoyed her thoroughly.
She drained just enough to sate her thirst, but not enough to kill him and then released him, her deep hazel eyes now almost glowing with the blood running through her veins. She stood, wiping from the corner of her supple lips a stray drop. She stood, gathering herself together before she extended her senses out around her again.

Zain had been literally standing in the clouds with his wings holding him hovering as he gazed over the city. The city that was almost fully his to control. It was funny actually how mystical creatures fight day in and day out yet the humans are so engrossed in there own petty conflicts that they see nothing of the bigger picture. It was sad and naive to say the least. Oh well he thought, In short it was actually beneficial to have the humans like this so when he did come upon them he would be able to soak them into a sea of terror.
Zain figured this was enough sight seeing as his wings went straight up and he began to fall straight down about five hundred feet before stretching his wings reaching the last five feet to land gracefully as one could. Soon as his feet touched his wings shrunk and recessed into his back to become completely hidden from the world. Everything was working to schedule for him as he turned and walked over to a near by park bench to grab his dark black jacket and a simple white button up shirt he left for himself. Zain was a man of elegance and if one who lived so long could not at least dine himself into the finer things in life then what was the point?
That mini thought would haft to wait though as to Zains surprise a show awaited him. A young female vampire with thirst upon her breath stalking what seemed to be a desperate meal. As a smile crept upon Zains face he stalked over to wards her coming within ten foot as she finished her last drop. All sudden a white cloth was thrown at her to clean up with.
My my, What a messy young lady, And such a sloppy taste in meals.
Zains smirk grew bigger as he wondered why a vampire was so close to his territory.
So little vampire, Are you lost? Or do you just like the taste of unsober blood?

When Ari heard a strange voice behind her, she spun in place, automatically unsheathing the katana that was strapped to her hip. When she saw that it was a rather beautiful young man, she straightened herself from her defensive crouch and flipped her sword around in her hand. She was twice as strong as she normally was, having just fed and she was most definitely not in the mood to be screwed with. She rested the blade on her thigh and smirked at him.
"It's slim pickin's at this time of night. I didn't feel like breaking into someone's home tonight, if you must know," she said, ignoring the white handkerchief that had been thrown in her direction. She let it float down and land in front of her feet, glancing back up to the handsome stranger. She could easily tell that he wasn't human, and she extended her telepathic powers to see what she could gather from his mind. For someone so handsome, it was no surprise to Ari that most of his thoughts consisted of himself, but she did glean what she assumed to be his name from the mess of his vanity.
"Zain, is it?" she asked with a perfect smile on her flawless face. Ari was a beautiful woman, and she knew it, but vain she was not. She knew her preternatural flawlessness could only be attributed to her Vampirism, but even before she was turn nearly 400 years ago, she was a beauty to behold. She waited with a smug anticipation for his reaction to her knowledge of his name, flipping her sword around in her hand again.

Ha ha and nosy to as well are we? You know, I could have just told you my name if you were that curious. Besides..diveing into a unknown strangers mind could become very...lethal.
Zain heightened the last word of his sentence with a low tone.
Any who yes it is Zain.
Zain bowed and waved his hand to his side before straitening back up.
So then you must be new around here.Very well tonight you get off with a free pass tonight.
Zain looked her up and down once more. Not to just admire her body but for other reasons as well as he began to walk to wards her not feeling threatened by her little sword.
By the way...Are you staying for long? Or passing?

Ari rolled her eyes as the man made his pointless threats. Men were so apt to be chauvinistic around a pretty girl, and Ari could tell that this one was no different. She was a strong, powerful female and she wasn't afraid of anything. She leaned back against a light post whose bulb just happened to be out as she twirled her sword around her a few more times. She grinned as he began to walk closer, his confident stride another indication of his vanity. She flipped the steel katana up in the air and caught it by the hilt, swinging it once more around her head before she sheathed it.
"I think I'll stay, for as long as I desire," she said, brushing a piece of hair from her eyes. Her deep hazel iris' became lighter, enjoying the teasing manner or her own jab. "I do wonder, though, if all the men in this city are as pompous as yourself?"

Heh, Possibly they are. But would confidence truly be a pompous act? Better yet you should ask yourself this little one. Why would someone actually be so confident considering all the workings that are going on right now in this small fare city of ours. Surely you've sensed both and many of vampires and lycans alike. But what of the higher beings? Then again unless you actually encountered one I doubt you would know what to look for would you?
Zain stopped in mid stride as he put both his hands into his pockets.
This is your last warning though. You need to leave this city before your own arrogance gets you killed...or worse.
Zain turned and began to walk past her along the sidewalk. He had a feeling she would be a stubborn one..and henceforth be a new problem to deal with.

Ari scoffed at the man when he called her "little one" her annoyance growing by the second.
"Angels, both black and white dwell in this place," she said, watching him walk away. "Among many others of the spiritual realm" She turned, so that she was facing his retreating form and said, "Do not mistake me for some frail young Vampire who is not aware of her surroundings. I have lived a long and dangerous live, one that has rid me of all my fears. I fear not you, nor any man, alive or dead."
She grinned, and flipped her sword around in her hand a few times more. If this pompous man thought she was naive, or underestimated her in any way, well, he had another thing coming.

That so?
Zain turned and grabbed her blade in mid air with quick reflexes before turning it back on her holding the tip against her neck.
You think your so wise...so smart, That your some all knowing vampire who thinks she has seen the world? Hmm...mayhaps you have. Or maybe your just strikeing a really good bluff. Either way you WILL stay out of my way. Unless you find the idea of becoming my new play thing much more thrilling?
Zain dropped her blade for her to catch or let drop as his cat like green eyes intensified there stare upon her.

Ari kept the wry grin on her face, even with her own blade pressed against her throat. She listened, half-heartedly to the overbearing man named Zain and when he flicked her sword back up in the air, she caught it out of the air with the same prowess he had.
One corner of her mouth pulled up in a seductively attractive smirk and she said, "Don't disgust me with you empty threats, Zain, for I haven't the patience." She moved away from him, now walking in the other direction, her hips swaying in the most seductive of ways. She stopped and turned, a smile on her flawless face.
"I have a feeling I will be seeing you again, regardless of whether or not I want to..." She laughed softly and turned back around again, blending herself into shadow and ultimately, disappearing.

Zain shook his head. She was right, They would meet again. But whether or not it was on good terms would simply up to her. With that Zain turned and walked into the night dissapearing into the darkness as he headed to nowhere..and everywhere. There were many going on's in this fare city and things were just getting started.

Ari ran back to her hotel room, having yet to be arsed to rent an apartment yet, though she knew she should. Money was of no consequence to her, having been born of royalty and inheriting much from her second sire, Logan Darc. She laid down upon her bed, having already dead-bolted the door thrice times and shut the heavy drapery. She was feel restless though, from the blood she had consumed and from her run-in with the insufferable Zain. She smirked, a smug feeling coming over her personage, with the knowledge that while she knew much about him, he knew next to nothing about her, other than her Vampirism and her obvious and immediate dislike of him. She went to sleep that morning with a smile on her preternaturally beautiful face.
When she woke the next night, she got up from her bed with a thoroughly cleared head and stripped naked before she climbed into the shower, thoroughly enjoying the feel of the hot water swirling around her body, cleansing her of all her cares. A few minutes later, she got out and dried herself off, toweling the damp out of her hair.
She clothed herself in a black cocktail sheath, the dress hugging her curves in all the right places and she accented it with a pair of diamond and silver earrings. She threw on a pair of silver 4" pumps, their stiletto heel tapping the tile when she walked. She decided to only have her dagger and knives on her tonight, not wanting to have to wear a bulky coat to hide what she was packing, when she could easily hide the blades under her dress. She shrugged into a deep red overcoat, the silken material thin and luscious against her cold skin.
Her first stop that evening was to a local realtor, to get her new housing situation in order. She left her room, key in her small black clutch and was out the door not moments later. Ari enjoyed the speed and strength that came along with her Vampirism, but that was about it. She walked down the street, the night still very young, and to the closest realtor suite that was still open this late. Thankfully for her, there were enough of night-dwelling creatures in this town to keep businesses running late.
After she'd found an acceptable dwelling place, she made her way to a nearby club, letting the doorman take her coat as she entered. The music was thumping through the entire place, ringing especially loudly in her preternatural ears, and she made her way to the bar, ordering a jack & coke that she couldn't drink. She leaned back in her chair, giving the vast, cavernous room a quick sweep with her keen eyes and then turned back to the bar, enjoying the heavy drone of the trance music that was blaring through the impressive sound system the club had set up. Ari had no particular plans for this evening, just craving a distraction from her melancholy existence and nothing more.
Although, meeting Zain the evening before had been quite a distraction indeed. She put her drink to her lips, taking a mock sip of the heavy liquor, the smell of it disgusting to Ari, and then set it back on the bar. She had to keep up apperances in front of the humans. What a drag... she thought to herself.
