Death was clinging to the air. It was very heavy tonight. Death was always promising in this city. Everyday people were killed. It was just the way things were. Vampires feeding off of humans to get their thirst quenched. Werewolf's making a snack out of a human body. And everything else that went bump in the night was patrolling the grounds, looking to cause mischief. It wasn't that hard.
Police car lights were shinning up and down the block. It was beautiful to look at, but what was beyond the cars was never beautiful. It was tragic. In this city it always was.
A girl with hair color of blood but lighter was walking past the yellow crime scene tap. She was wearing a dark red blouse. A leather jacket over it, and long stiletto boots that clicked as she walked towards the crime scene.
She didn't see the body at first. All she saw was the snow. It had pooled into a deep drift in one of those hollows that you find in the streets near the woods. In spring the holes fill with rain and mud. In fall they pile deep with leaves. In winter they hold the deepest snow. The moonlight carved each footprint, each scruff mark in high relief. Every print filled like a blue cup with shadows.
She stood at the edge of the clearing looking down at the mismatch of tracks. Somewhere in this mess was the murderer's tracks, or bear tracks. But unless it was an animal she didn't know how anyone was going to figure it out.
She walked closer to the group of uniforms and they parted like water for her. In there was a bloody hot mess just waiting for her to look at. It was lovely in a way. It was nicely done
The abdominal area and been completely ripped off. The skin was no longer seen, the ribs were poking out glistening white in the moonlight. Blood was splattered all over the area. Whoever did this didn't care about being neat. It looked like they took their time.
The girl leaned down at the body. The good thing about winter was that the smell of rotting body was gone. The coldness holding the ripening smell. One good thing about winter at least. She got a pair of surgical gloves and started looking through the body. There was scratch marks and bite marks all over the mans body. There was a good piece of flesh gone from his neck, giving her a visible to the ghostly white spine.
"Well I want to say this is an animal, shape shifter, werewolf, or Lycan. The cuts on the body are to cannibalistic to be vampire or human or anything humanoid at all. But if it is a were or something like that they are still here."She said.
Everyone got dead quiet. A few of the uniforms getting out their guns in case anything decided to jump them.

Felix was watching the scene quietly. Of course she remembered everything that she had done in her wolf form; it wasn't that hard to remember. The only thing that this werewolf hated about that part was having to live with herself afterwards. The police cars had no effect on the woman; she was one of the biggest trouble-making werewolves around. She was a paid assasin at one point, knew all about the nerves in the body of human and other closely related creatures, as well as those in her own kind. Felix was not one to get caught.
Across the street, she let out a harsh laugh, being able to hear everything perfectly, due to her sharpened senses, even in her human form. The officers pulling out their guns would not find the killer that easily. Felix had't entirely meant to kill the man; he was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. The femma fatale walked as close to the tape as she could get, smirking at the huddled mass of bodies that were watching the detective (who was a female, based on her scent) go to work. That woman was human, Felix could tell, but there was something.. more to her scent that Felix couldn't quite determine. The woman walked away, her heavy tanker boots leaving prints on the snow. Felix leaned up against one of the outer buildings.
In truth, since her feeling from the Underground, she was a mess. She had no permanent home, very few allies, and many enemies. It was a tad bit later that she had gotten up, her short red hair a tangled mess. She was in a pair of knee-high shorts, which were a rough material, and a simple green hoodie, which matched her eyes. Getting bored of their investigation, Felix decided that things would be spiced up if she went over and offered some information.
Headings toward one of the officers who just so happened to be closer to the yellow police tape, she put on one of her best acts. "I'm here for the Lord of the Lycanthropes, Hiroshi." Her stern look might not get her through, but few would doubt her word. She was at some point aligned with him, so Felix wasn't really lying to them. "I need to get in and check, to see if it's one of our own who committed the murder. If it is, I trust that the werewolves and Lycans will be allowed to handle the person responsible accordingly?"

All the humans were starting to get a little frisky. They were all too trigger happy for her own good. This wasn't were she should be. She started to slowly walk away from the crime scene. Those dull human eyes were looking at her tri-colored green ones. "Hey I don't want to be in the cross fire. You are all to damn trigger happy for me."She explained Some of the uniforms blushed a little. You could hear the faint click of the guns as the safety was turned on. She let out a puff of air. Now this was better.
She saw a girl talking to one of the uniforms at the cross tape. There was no cives here. That was against the rules. She started walking towards the woman and the uniform. The snow crunched under her boots as she walked towards them.
"What are you doing here?"She asked. Her voice cold

Felix's eyes immediatey slit towrad the woman's, her expression unreadable. So, this was what the woman looked like. Yes, Felix could tell that she was the lead; her scent had no fear, or very little of it, as compared to the rest of the men and women who were here to help, to obey and listen to their higher ups. All in all, they were just soldiers, dogs for the using. Feliz kept her gaze even and cool, neutral but with an air of authority.
"Me? Personally, I'm here for the Lycanthrope and werewolf community, if you don't mind." Felix smiled, her incisors sharper and longer than what a human's would be. The werewolf was trying to see how spooked this one would get. She slipped beneath the line in one fluid movement, another show of her inhuman abilties and prowess; it was a taunt to the humans, and a warning to watch it. "If it's one of our own who's killed, we need to know more than you do."
The werewolf didn't quite tower over the female, but Felix was a good inch or two taller than her. Smiling, The woman shook her head, her hand arranging her hair properly. "If that isn't too much of a problem."

Meredith raised an eyebrow. Questioning the woman's choice of words. Apparently she was new to the crime scene process. Meredith wasn't She had been in it for over two hundred years. She had some years under belt. Or a couple centuries. She gave a little cocky smile. "You have no authority here shifter. So go run along now."She said.
A werewolf wasn't going to mess with her. Not even this cocky little pretty thing. She wouldn't stand for it.
Meredith was usually a quiet and shy person. But on the job she was a totally different person. She kind of had to be. She was usually the only woman on a crime scene. Therefore she had to act like one of the guys, or even tougher if the job called for it. She couldn't seem lesser to them or they would shove her out.
Her tri-colored eyes looked into the shifters. If she knew the were community well she knew that this woman would take it as a challenge. They always thought that someone was trying to be dominate over them. She knew how to play their game, well most of the time anyways.

This woman could read her like an open book. Unless one was well guarded -and thus well prepared- they wouldn't last too long with the supernatural community. Felix smiled, again showing her larger incisors. She didn't look away from the woman's eyes, which she noted were an odd medley of colors. Felix held in a laugh, because it would just be rude to be so mean to a little human like this, who dared order around Hiro's second in command. This woman could be pu on their blacklist for this, but Felix was going to enjoy herself before making an actual decision. "Excuse me, but if you don't want my help, by all means, go right ahead. It's not like you can smell and identify the killer by just getting a simple sniff of the body, or anything. Isn't that right?"
The werewolf smiled at her, before moving away from the little human, who reminded Felix of herself in some odd way, but she couldn't really pinpoint it. The werewolf was off to the side, her hand resting on her hip, the other behind her neck as she looked at the scene. She turned back around, heading for the yellow tape again, resisting the urge to smack the petite human around. It would have been fun, but there were far too many witnesses. She clacked the snow off her large boots, taking her time. The werewolf turned to the woman again.
"I'm sorry, I can't leave until we're certain of who it is, General's Orders. And he, I'm afraid, overrides you at the moment when it concerns myself," Felix stated. She could smell new fear in the guard that was listening to the two women verbally battle it out. Hiroshi, even if he didn't actually say anything concerning this murder at all, was enough to make anyone of character even a tad bit afraid. Felix herself, for all she cared for him, worried and was frightened of the man when he was angry, which was rare in itself. "If you would please allow me to examine the body, that would be great. Hell, I'll even wear those little rubber gloves. How does that sound?"

Meredith sighed heavily. She couldn't allow civvies in here. It was against her habits. Investigators usually had habits, and once one was broken they were in a bad mood. She was usually treated with respect and authority among the women. This was a grave insult to her. It was also against her sidhe morals. They were also usually treated with high respect.
"Fine you can pass. Mess up any of the evidence though and I'm taking your ass down town princess."She said.
The evidence was already screwed six ways to Sunday but she didn't want anyone else making it even more of a mess.

Felis smiled triumphantly, her body moving forward, past the little woman, pleased at how relatively simple this had all been. Compared to taking down other Lycanthropes, capturing slaves and going up against a demon-angel hybrid, Felix would take this anyday. The woman's smiled soon faltered, her face taking on a smoother, more mask-like look to it as she examined the body from afar. It was a gruesome sight, and for a moment, a shudder of fear wanted to make its way through her. Pushing that aside, she could see the damge that she had done last night. The poor guy was close to unrecognizable, and Felix felt no remorse. The animal inside her had been lusting for blood, and under the full moon, she was obligated to fulfill her every desire.
"Will do, Captain, but I think it would take a lot more than just you to get my ass downtow," she lightly said, walking closer, careful not to sully any of the evidence, as the other woman had put it. After examining him from all possible angles and perspectives, Felix asked aloud, "Would it be possible for me to smell the body? If so, that would be greaaat." The werewolf drew out the 'great', making it seem exagerrated, smiling to herself. No, this situation would need to really be livened up a little bit, in some way or form.
"Did you take any samples yet, or would I be soiling this poor man's detroyed body, Miss..?" Felix asked, wanting to know her new adversary's name.

"Essiusis. Meredith Essiusis."She said.
Anyone among the preternatural community would know her name. She was the Princess Of Blood and Flesh. Heir to the Unseelie throne. The sidhe had fewer numbers than they had so many millennium ago, but they were still very respected among the community. No one would dare challenge the power of the Unseelie court. Now the Seelie court, that was a different story. They were a bunch of push overs.
"Yes I have my samples of the human. Do what ever you like with it. Just don't eat it."She teased

Laughing at the woman's comment, Felix showed her teeth in a wlfish grin. "Nice to meet you, I'm Felix Delos. If you don't feel like addressing me by my name, well.. you can just call me Lady Luck. Thank you, but I prefer to eat meat that isn't over a few hours old." Indeed, this woman's name was now more familiar, and though Felix knew who she was once her last name was uttered, she wouldn't treat her any differently. If she did, it wouldn't be by much. The woman wasn't well-liked outside of her own community, due to all of the people she managed to piss off.
Settling down beside the body, her own scent flooded her nose, though it was slightly different due to the different form. Her bright green eyes closed, and she inhaled softly, before exhaling. In her mind's eye, the evnts from last night unfolded in violent flashes of mixed emotions.
Bloodlust.
Anger.
Hatred.
It was a terrible medley, and underneath the full moon, it was toxic. This poor man had ran from her, had given Felix the chase that her body and mind had craved while in her animal form. Rising now, her eyes open, Felix's face was blank, but there was a harder tone to it, almost. "One of our own, more than likely werewolf, Merideth."

She had heard the lady's name before. She was well known through out the preternatural community as well. But that also made the woman a suspect in the case. One she was a werewolf, automatic suspect and, two she was known as being blood lust crazy during the full moon. The sidhe would tell tales of were women like her. They were cruel and beautiful. Almost like their queen, Andias. The Queen of Darkness and Air. Though Andias was the most cruel woman on the planet you would ever meet. She was the cruelest of all the Unseelie sidhe. She was their queen, their monster. People feared her. People in the supernatural community usually told their children stories about her so they would be good.
She nodded in agreement. She knew it had to have been someone from the were community. The body was gutted out and everything. It was the behavior of a were. The only problem was she hadn't seen one like this, this messy in a very long time. Apparently there was a really ruthless werewolf in the area.

Her nod told Felix much about the woman. First, that she agreed, which was painfully obvious. The second thing her silent nod told her was that Meredith was deep in thought. Also, she was curt, meaning that there was eaither more pressing matters on her mind, or perhaps that this woman was raised in such a manner. As for that last part, Felix didn't care to know, because it didn't concern her directly at the moment. She stepped back, cirlcing the body once more. The werewolf wasn't smiling; rather, she was deep in thought. Such a thing was now quite intriguing to her. How could she worm her way out of her own mess? Well, Felix didn't quite know yet. And that was what made it fun.
"Any ideas, Meredith? Or am I allowed to eat him now?" she teased her, laughing to herself. The werewolf plopped down on the ground, making sure to land her ass on a spot that was void of blood, snow, or water. "because if not, looks like the boys will have to come in. I highly doubt you'd enjoy that, not to threaten you or anything, but just to tell the truth."
